  1. I read an article saying she was only marrying him for the money... Will see if I can find it again. Edit: I swear I saw it on ninemsn the other week, but can't find it now.
  2. Sorry, probably my fault, but I haven't read the others except electric sheep. I didn't even know there was a film.
  3. i did indeed get A Life in Letters for Christmas, along with Down and Out in Paris and London. I really want to read Helter Skelter as well, but I need to get myself a copy.
  4. I think they are called airboats?
  5. Very good! I was so embarressed at opening so many gifts in front of my family, and boyfriends mum, that once they had opened their gifts I gave them some of mine to open. We took turns opening a gift each so everyone could see what the others got.
  6. Thanks. I think it makes it easier to pick books, it's not a concrete list though and if I want I can swap books in and out of the list at anytime.
  7. I am looking forward to reading The Light Between Oceans. If we didn't have to sleep, imagine how much reading we could get done! Work all day, read all night. I love the video too. I like to watch it now and then just to remind me of things, somehow it makes my problems seem not so big.
  8. I've read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and have The Man in the High Castle, A Maze of Death, The Penultimate Truth, Dr Bloodmoney, Ubik, and A Scanner Darkly in my SF Masterworks collection by Philip K. Dick. Pale Blue Dot is on my mini non-fiction TBR list. I just need to pick the other nine before I post it.
  9. Here are the books I got for Christmas. I got spoilt.
  10. Fiction Mini TBR up - http://www.bookclubforum.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/13264-devis-book-everest-for-2015/?p=415648
  11. Happy reading in 2015 Julie, and best wishes for good health.
  12. Ooooooh once I drop my TBR pile to 100, i might have to use your TBR pot. Happy random reading in 2015!
  13. I like the way you review books Steve, not that there was anything wrong with the old reviews either. Happy reading in 2015.
  14. Thank you! I wish you all the best too.
  15. So Melodious reminded me of this video - I have a book by Carl Sagan on my TBR non-fiction pile which this video was influenced by - Pale Blue Dot.
  16. I found my copy on Book Depository originally. I found this video which I love! I play it now and then. Edit: link to video - http://www.bookclubforum.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/13264-devis-book-everest-for-2015/?p=416019
  17. Yep, I still do as well. Sometimes it's because I found a better cover though.
  18. Thanks! I think it makes the main TBR pile less overwhelming. I just picked my 10 books for my fiction TBR pile. Will be adding them once I have a few minutes.

Okay. Currently we are having a thunderstorm, and it's 10pm at night. I will go to the unit in the morning (it's in the backyard) and take some photos for you.
  20. Mines set that way.
  21. In my case, one of the perks of having short term memory loss! I don't know how many times I have bought two copies of the same book at different stages. It doesn't happen as often now I have a smart phone, and I can double check my GoodReads list while on the hunt.
  22. I've pretty much put every book I own on GoodReads, total is currently 356 - which I thought would actually be closer to 500. Next big task is to add my wish-list books...

I'll take Peace is Every Step - Thich Nhat Hanh for my mum and sister. Ones a Tibetan Buddhist nun, the other a zen nun in training. Yeah, I am the odd one out. p.s. my mum has a few doubles and triples of buddhist books, she is happy to swap for one of them if you like. If you are keen, I can take pictures of them and send to you to take a look.
  24. I love Carl Sagan! I have Pale Blue Dot on my TBR pile.
  25. back! I replied to your email last night.
