  1. Woo for multiple viewings, Chesil! :smile2:

I agree with you about the commentary. Chris is hilarious, and I loved hearing about the technical aspects of filming from both he and Peter. It was interesting to hear about how they did certain shots, and to hear the 'director terms' for certain things was neat. I still would've loved to have heard the cast as well, like you.

I didn't get either of those extras with my DVD that you mentioned ;). But I did love watching the 6-part making of, so that was probably my favorite of the extras aside from the commentary.

  2. I'm going to start Under the Eagle by Simon Scarrow this weekend, I've never read any historical fiction. I'm praying for a book that I don't give up on halfway through, because that's all I seem to have done this month.

Good luck, JCW! :smile2: Historical fiction is by far my genre of choice so I hope you enjoy your start into it. Let us know if you're looking for any suggestions for more :).

  3. Yep, who else is that hilarious when they rant but Luke?! :D

I bought the soundtrack for Crazy Heart the other day and was so happy when I heard the song 'Reflecting Light' by Sam Philips. I remember that song so well because they played it when Luke and Lorelai danced, awww. Of course I can't remember where they danced, was it at

    Liz and CJ's wedding reception?

Such a great song though! :irked:

  4. Thought I better come in and give my poor thread a bit of a bump. I'm such a slow reader compared to you guys! :D

Anyway, I'm mainly concentrating on Bel-Ami now since it's part of a ring, and I'm really enjoying it! Trying not to let the main character get on my nerves, but that's only because I'm picturing you-know-who playing him in a movie! Honestly though, if I knew a guy like Georges Duroy in real life I'd kick him to the curb! :irked:

As soon as I finish this (I'm at the halfway point) I'll go back to PP&Z. Hope everyone else is having happy reading times!

  5. I'm not sure why certain words or phrases are changing into American for you guys, because maybe it's just the fact that I live in the midwest, but I don't see the same happening here. When I think hard, the only word I spell on a regular basis that's English is 'theatre,' and I honestly don't know how I picked that up :irked:.

I'm used to seeing words spelled like colour and favourite now because of you fine folk :D. I even think I heard myself call my mom 'mum' over the weekend!
