Hey there and welcome to BCF, Mole!
-
Hello and welcome to BCF, Kinks!
Do you have any favorite King works?
-
I loved Hoffman in Boogie Nights, Dan, and the film too was excellent. He's been in quite a few of PT Anderson's films, Magnolia being my favorite. I also loved him in Doubt and Capote
.

Just finished some leftover grilled shrimp from dinner out last night. I decided to toss the asparagus though and just have some Fontina cheese and crackers.
-
Charlie Wilson's War
What did you think of this one, Kylie? All I remember is that I liked Philip Seymour Hoffman's character, as usual.
Last night my friend and I watched Juno and the first 3 episodes from Bing Bang Theory season one.
-
Woo for multiple viewings, Chesil!
I agree with you about the commentary. Chris is hilarious, and I loved hearing about the technical aspects of filming from both he and Peter. It was interesting to hear about how they did certain shots, and to hear the 'director terms' for certain things was neat. I still would've loved to have heard the cast as well, like you.
I didn't get either of those extras with my DVD that you mentioned
. But I did love watching the 6-part making of, so that was probably my favorite of the extras aside from the commentary.

Heading to my fave restaurant Chino Latino tonight with my friend who's coming into town
. Can't wait!

I'm going to start Under the Eagle by Simon Scarrow this weekend, I've never read any historical fiction. I'm praying for a book that I don't give up on halfway through, because that's all I seem to have done this month.
Good luck, JCW!
Historical fiction is by far my genre of choice so I hope you enjoy your start into it. Let us know if you're looking for any suggestions for more

Probably be a good idea, Kylie, or at least put it at the very bottom!
I think what compounded my dislike for it was just the fact that I loved 'Secret History' so much, waited and waited for 10 years and Tartt to write another book, and then to have to read that disappointment, ugh
.

Hey there and welcome, Cressie! Glad you joined up

Donna Tartt comes to mind. The Secret History was simply superb, whereas Little Friend was boring and I couldn't finish it. Didn't hate it though, but was really disappointed in it after having enjoyed The Secret History so much.
Yes! Ditto! Frankie hit the nail on the head. I did finish Little Friend however and can genuinely say I hated it

Had dinner out at a yummy Italian place tonight. I had grilled chicken with a way yummy apricot glaze, tomatoes, asparagus and broccoli. It was delish!

Yep, who else is that hilarious when they rant but Luke?!
I bought the soundtrack for Crazy Heart the other day and was so happy when I heard the song 'Reflecting Light' by Sam Philips. I remember that song so well because they played it when Luke and Lorelai danced, awww. Of course I can't remember where they danced, was it at
Liz and CJ's wedding reception?
Such a great song though!

Great review, Weave! And thanks for posting this as I'd forgotten this came out recently
. I think it will be picked up this weekend
.

I'm glad you agree
. He is funny though, I agree! I love how he talks to himself all the time

Thought I better come in and give my poor thread a bit of a bump. I'm such a slow reader compared to you guys!
Anyway, I'm mainly concentrating on Bel-Ami now since it's part of a ring, and I'm really enjoying it! Trying not to let the main character get on my nerves, but that's only because I'm picturing you-know-who playing him in a movie! Honestly though, if I knew a guy like Georges Duroy in real life I'd kick him to the curb!
As soon as I finish this (I'm at the halfway point) I'll go back to PP&Z. Hope everyone else is having happy reading times!

Me too
Woo! You can't hear me, but I'm cheering for you, Lexie

Good choice of the girly night with dvd, Bookjumper
.
Picture with my idol
Empire Strikes Back or The Return of the Jedi?
-
Let us not also forget the mighty Flogging Molly!
Love those guys, Beef! They come to town at least once a year and put on a great show
.

The Shining
*heavy sigh and a shake of the head* Rawr, Rawr, Rawr...
I'm watching/listening to New Moon.

I'm not sure why certain words or phrases are changing into American for you guys, because maybe it's just the fact that I live in the midwest, but I don't see the same happening here. When I think hard, the only word I spell on a regular basis that's English is 'theatre,' and I honestly don't know how I picked that up
.
I'm used to seeing words spelled like colour and favourite now because of you fine folk
. I even think I heard myself call my mom 'mum' over the weekend!
The Last DVD you watched?

Magnolia is by far my favorite Anderson film, Kylie, so I hope you get to see it soon!
Also, his first movie called 'Hard Eight' I would highly recommend.
