  1. I have browsed a bit but I don't think there has been posts about her ? If so, sorry. :/ I started a topic because I bought by curiosity one of her books last year ("Net of jewels") and even though the story is neither too original nor too subversive, it was really well written, in a fast clear sort of style. I really enjoyed it and bought some more, after a few books, you get the feeling that they're about the same subjects : biographies of middle-aged women, love, men, writing, inspiration, freedom... But her description of characters and her way of telling the story is quite charming. Did some of you read some of her books too ? what did you think ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellen_Gilchrist
  2. I have never read some Du Maurier yet I'd be very much interested. Would this book be a good start ? or would Rebecca be a better choice ?
  3. Am Trying to finish "the book-case of Sherlock Holmes" from the two volumes compilation... still very much entertaining ^^
  4. A couple of days ago, I watched "the children of the corn" based on a Stephen King short story.... I didn't remember it but clearly considering the movie, you can safely guess at all the things that have been cut out or softened for the audiance... Very weird to see a pre-Terminator Linda Hamilton there !
  5. "The black Dahlia" I thought was pretty disturbing, and contributed to the fact that I never really got the Ellroy vibe after this one try. When I was a kid, Clive Barker's "Books of blood" were quite shocking in their description of urban violence and horror.
  6. "the green mile" for me. I don't think it's his best, but still I thought it was quite awesome. Couldn't put it down once I started
