- I read about a year ago a children's fiction book and it captured my heart and I would give anything for someone to find out the name and author of it! - It was about a teenage girl called Alex who had a little brother and constantly got stuck looking after him because the parent's made her. She took him out one day to a motorway bridge to hang around with all of her friends and she got so annoyed with him she dangled him over the edge of the bridge to frighten him. The boy then wriggled around and he fell to his death. The book follows Alex as a grown up looking back on her teenage years through talking to her foster parents and talking to a phsyciatrist. In the book though after the incident with her brother she changed her name (I cannot remember what she changed it to) and the book is about her trying to get over what happened and trying to come to terms with her new life. Often in the book people will say Alex and she will get scared and nervous thinking that they mean her and that someone has found out she is not who she says she is. - At first I thought this book was by the author Allan Gibbons but I have looked through a list of all his books and not come across one of this description. It may still be by him though, I could have missed it. - PLEASE help me find this book. I really want it. Thank you in advance Any replies will be helpful!!
