Enjoy!

I've just watched Warrior King. It was good, but not as good as Ong Bak.

Following my weekly visit to The Works to see what random books I could find I came home with Julian Corkle is a Filthy Liar by D J Connell and Divine Justice by David Baldacci. I didn't realise at the time that Divine Justice is the 4th of a set of 5 books so I've just sent off for a second hand hardcover edition of the first book, The Camel Club for just £2.81 delivered...bargain!

I just watched an awful movie tonight called Altered. It's about a group of guys who capture an alien that had previous kidnapped them and, well, that's about all I remember...it was poor...
-
I'm watching the 6th episode of The World at War.
-
Me too!

I've never watched any of those movies...are they good? I've put the first one on my rental list as I'm curious about these movies.

Hi there, and thank you. Hyzenthlay actually guessed correctly as to why I used Waits as my name. ...it's because of who my favourite musician is.
-
Just plain old water...but I've stuck in a couple of slices of lemon to make it a little bit more exciting!

Green tea.

I finished reading "The Good Guy" by Dean Koontz earlier this evening. It's my first Dean Koontz book in about 3 or 4 years so it's been good to get back to them...really enjoyed this one.

I've just watched Ong Bak. Awesome...if you like that kind of thing!

Hi there. I'd have to agree...they're kind of boring too. They have practical uses, but they have no personality. Hello!
-
That sounds like a great idea. Yeah I'll definitely pop along sometime...I've not checked out the members threads yet.
-
Hello to you too. You certainly do. Although I'm not sure what. Hi to you too. I have to agree...I'll take a book over mind numbing TV any time. Hi there.

Thanks for that one too. I really like it off the beaten track in Scotland so that would be something interesting to read. -
Yes, I did...I really liked that movie too. Great soundtrack also.

Thank you! Shaun of the Dead is quality...Hot Fuzz is awesome too!

Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm really liking the vibe here so far. It's great that there's off topic conversations to be had too. -
Hi Kylie...ooh, good guess, but not quite right (see below for correct answer). Hi there...nice hobbies. I like. Do you collect coloured paper clips too, or just silver ones? And do you collect those really huge novelty ones you can get too? Hi there, and thanks. Strangely enough I've only ever read one of his books...Notes from a Small Island. It was a while ago now but I really enjoyed it and would like to read more of his. Hi there...yep, you've got it absolutely spot on. Tom Waits! My musical hero! Nice one! Hello to you too! Yeah I can never settle with one style for too long and need to vary it up a bit. The next book I'm going to read which is on its way in the post is some Bruce Lee literature!

I live in a tiny house and so storage is a real problem, but I refuse to get rid of any of my books. My bookcase is full so I've resorted to stacking them down the sides on each step of my staircase!

Hey there, I joined yesterday too! Welcome!

Sounds perfect then! Hi! Hi to you too. Hi, and thank you. Nice to know I'm not the only new face around here. I hope you enjoy the site too. Hi there. To be honest with you I read all kinds of books. One time I can be reading a thriller, then biography, then factual, then a travelogue, then horror, then a romance. It really does vary, but I don't know if I have a favourite author as such yet. I've read a fair bit of Dean Koontz, love the Danny Wallace style of writing when I need a laugh, I've enjoyed some contemporary stuff by Mike Gayle and Tony Parsons, then I've got books I've been reading on Buddhism and meditation, life philosophies, then there's factual books about Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge which have always interested me. Most recent reads have been The Time Traveller's Wife, The Alchemist, One Day, Charles Bukowski's 'Women', and one of my favourites of all time, purely for the atmosphere of freedom is Call of the Wild by Guy Grieve. I love travel diaries too. I'll have a go at anything and generally go through phases of what appeals at the time.

Hey everybody, how's it going? I joined the website yesterday having first looked around the internet to find a decent website for reading enthusiasts. This one stood out well above the others and so I came straight back and registered. I read as much as I possibly can in-between working, studying, and my other hobbies and interests. It's just the most amazing escape and the thing I love so much about reading is that even if two people read the same book, the way each person perceives even the simplest of things (like the environment in which it's set, how the characters look, and even how the sounds and smells might be) can be so very different. Books are so personal. But I also have many other interests and am passionate about all that I do. I'm also very friendly and I'm happy to chat with anyone so feel free to say Hi. Have a great day! Waits p.s. Waits isn't my real name, but can you guess why I've chosen that as my display name?

I watched two movies over the weekend but I can't remember which one I watched second so I'll just list them both...Up In The Air and Gran Torino. I never get bored of either...brilliant movies.
