  1. Rather random, I fear, but still: Harry Potter. I'd love to use magic the way he does and fly on a broomstick. And safe the world. And have great friends by my side.
  2. These are my bookshelves. Sorry for the bad quality photo - mobile phone cam. x
  3. I'm from Austria. Wonder if there are any other Austrians on here?!
  4. Harry Potter. There's so no other choice for me!!!
  5. I read the first two or three books when I was, like, 12 or something. Now I'm 22 and finally I've read through all seven books. Finished the Deathly Hallows today and am immensely pleased to have at last got around to reading them all. They're worth it, though!
  6. I bought it at the bookshop I work at. It's a "Rebella Owl" bookmark. No clue whether you can get them outside of Austria? x Lisa
  7. I absolutely love bookmarks! I've got lots of them, too. Especially those magnetic ones are rad. But my favourite right now is a good old-fashioned non-magnetic one:
  8. I spend about 70 Euros a month on books. Working in a bookshop it's just that much harder to resist temptation... haha!

    Your Age?

I'm 22. Sometimes I behave like 52 and sometimes like 12. So what? Haha!
  10. Thank you for the warm welcome! I like Thrillers, Mystery and classics and... oh, well, depends on my mood. Just about any book really except historical tomes. Thank you again! And a big hello to everyone! Lisa
  11. Hi there! Just thought it would be polite to introduce myself before posting away. I've been reading posts in this forum for a long time and have finally decided to become a part of it. My name's Lisa, I'm 22, and I'm from Austria. I've been working in a bookshop for more than two years and it goes without saying that books are my passion! So, hello to all and see you around! Lisa
  12. So, what book, more than any other, has... Haunted you? Joe Hill - Heart-Shaped Box Made you weep? William Shakespeare - Romeo & Juliet Made you laugh? Mark Haddon - The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime Made you ponder? Franz Kafka - Metamorphosis Filled you with a new sense of wonder for the world? Xiaolu Guo - A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers Angered you? Paulo Coelho - 11 Minutes Filled you with passion or longing? Gabriel Garcia Marquez - Love in the Time of Cholera Frightened you? James Herbert - The Secret of Crickley Hall Moved you through every emotion imaginable? Stewart O'Nan - Songs for the Missing Made you euphoric to be alive? Audrey Niffenegger - Her Fearful Symmetry Took you away from the real world, so lost within it's pages, that it was a shock to come back to reality? J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter series Made you ache from the exquisite beauty of the written word? Emily Bronte - Wuthering Heights Filled you with sorrow for the human condition? Jean-Paul Sartre - No Exit Filled you with hope for humanity? This may sound weird, but: H.G. Wells - The War of the Worlds
