About Me
I live in the Scottish Isles (for the past 20 years) with my wife, we are not originally Scottish but come from England, my wife from East Anlia and myself from Hereford/Worcester. Like most people on this forum (I imagine), I have enjoyed reading since childhood, the first books I ever remember reading were Black Beauty and Robin Hood. My favourite book is James Hilton's 'Goodbye Mr Chips' a book that I have read many times.
The books that I like to read are fantasy and mystery crime stories. Agatha Christie and Conan-Doyle being my favourites in that area, Tolkein and Rowling in the fantasy area. I mostly like literature from 19th and early 20th century with the exception of fantasy. Also, I have a taste for horror stories, Dracula and the like, for modern horror I prefer the stories of Steven King.
In the non-fiction area I like to read books about history, with a preferance to WWII and Medieval England.
However over the past few year I have been using audio books as my reading medium, I can listen to the book and do other things. I find that I listen to a far greater range of literature than when I actually read so I am a great advocate of the audio books.
