  1. The big new release is Holiday of the Dead; The zombie apocalypse can really put a downer on your holiday… 38 holiday-themed zombie stories from new and established authors including Night of the Living Dead co-writer, John Russo, Tony Burgess, Shaun Jeffrey, Rod Glenn, Iain McKinnon, Matt Hilton, David Dunwoody, Wayne Simmons, Bowie V Ibarra, Joe McKinney, A P Fuchs, Thomas Emson and Eric S Brown. Over 500 pages crammed full of flesh-eating horror and dark humour from the cream of UK, US and Canadian talent. Theme parks, serial killers, seaside resorts, Christmas, Thanksgiving and fishing trips. You’ll scream, you’ll laugh and you might even shed a tear… Holiday zombie horror has never been so entertaining.
  2. I think the remake of the film will probably find ways to improve the pacing of the original film, as the remake of Insomnia managed to do. Daniel Craig is an excellent actor - I think it could be good.
  3. It was the last zombie novel I read too - Really enjoyed it! I popped a review on Amazon.
  4. I think it has a great crime plot. I think anyone who appreciates a great crime novel will enjoy it, be it male or female. I'll certainly be aiming to elevate the 'detective' aspects of my next novel after reading this gold standard book.
  5. I finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo a few days ago. I thought it was excellent, and grabbed the dvd yesterday. The film's good too, although more of a companion piece for my money. In fact if you haven't read the book it might be a little confusing at times as the film makers hit 'fast-forward' to cram the 800 page plot into a 2 hour film. The female character Salander is a very original creation, and I think she elevates the novel above other good crime novels.
  6. You wrote - Did you take note of my post? - And then it just got confusing. Lets forget it! Lol
  7. I thought you were saying something about kindles earlier?
  8. Didn't see you there! Lol Might get a kindle for Xmas. They're the future! Lol
  9. I edited it already!

  10. Here's a list for you to be getting on with! Lol Plenty of insights in all of them Tomes of the Dead: The Words of their Roaring by Matthew Smith Domain of the Dead by Iain McKinnon Dead Beat by Iain McKinnon Autumn by David Moody Autumn: The City by David Moody Flu by Wayne Simmons Deadfall by Shaun Jeffrey The Estuary by Derek Gunn Zombie Britannica by Thomas Emson Autumn: The Human Condition by David Moody
  11. Dennis Lehane is one of my favourite authors. Shutter Island is inspired - The film was a pale shadow really, and even fiddled with the books ending to poor effect I thought. I'm surprised people haven't emphasized how brilliant Lehane's Kenzie-Gennaro series is; A Drink Before the War (1994) Darkness, Take My Hand (1996) Sacred (1997) Gone, Baby, Gone (1998) Prayers for Rain (1999) Moonlight Mile (2010) I haven't read the first or the last, but the rest are unmissable. Also loved the film version of Gone, Baby, Gone.
  12. I've had The Strain delivered from England the other day. It's looks really interesting. And also I agree, World War Z is exceptional. Should be the biggest budget zombie movie of all time in the next two years. I believe it's in pre-production.
  13. I found the comment 'far more than a zombie book' a little sarky too. No problem though. Currently reading The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, although without looking I'm guessing there is a million comments here on that book already.
