  1. Hmmm, this is difficult to answer. Right now I will go with: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Doestevsky Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
  2. This is true. Another issue is whether you have hard or soft water. Mine is hard, which does dry the skin. I tend to use skin-softening soaps and moisturizers to counteract the drying.
  3. Oh! You learn something new every day. I am not a fan of Depeche Mode (obviously), but I do have a few of their albums and like them well enough.
  4. Just stopping by to say hi.

    How are you doing? :)

  5. I doubt you are as terrible at conversing as you think you are. I talked with you in chat yesterday, and you were just fine. What are you a devotee of?
  6. I am a few chapters into The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and I am already hooked.
  7. You may be right, Brida, but I was a bit concerned because he used the words "huge impact" and "huge lesson" in regards to his understanding and relationships with women. Maybe I am reading too much into those words, but it set up alarm bells for me.
  8. If you are going to try to understand your future female partners according to a book or books you have read, you aren't going to get very far in your relationships. Women, nay, human beings, are individuals. The best way to understand someone is to get to know him or her on an individual basis.
  9. That is what I do, frankie, and I live in Florida. It's very hot and humid here. I take a fairly hot shower and once I step out the air feels cool on my skin. For a little while, anyway.
  10. Hello and welcome, Ms Squiggles. After reading about your book buying habits and the size of your TBR pile, I have one question to ask. Are you me?
  11. Pixie

    Your Age?

I am old and decrepit. 39 to be exact.
  12. I am almost done with The Ghost Writer. This book is awesome. It gave me chills. I am planning to read The Forgotten Garden next by Kate Morton. I am really excited about this one. The title itself has me so intrigued. I hope it is as good as I expect it to be.
  13. You would make me very uncomfortable if I knew you in person, vodkafan. I am sorry things have been so tough for you, by the way. :hug2: I have lost my reading mojo a bit as well, as I have issues of my own I am dealing with. If you ever finish We Need To Talk About Kevin, I would love to hear your thoughts.
  14. Definitely a nice haul, Weave. Yes, I am enjoying it so much, I already have The Seance by the same author on the way. Oh, I must pick up this one.
  15. I read Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen while the forum was being moved and loved it! I am now reading The Ghost Writer by John Harwood and loving it as well.
  16. For several long minutes I hovered outside the door. Not a sound. I eased the handle open and looked in. The Ghost Writer by John Harwood
  17. I am almost done with Haunted and have decided I want to read more by Chuck Pahalniuk.
  18. That's what he told me, Kylie. That all men love The Terminator movies. Yes, he does. Rear Window was awesome, and I never would have even thought of watching it if it hadn't been for him.
  19. I read Twilight (meaning the first book). I thought "meh" and didn't bother picking up any of the others.
  20. Black cats are the best! I got him from the local Humanitarians of Florida. They said people didn't seem to want to adopt the black cats, so I snatched him up. He was following me around at the shelter, so I guess he chose me. :D

Wow. Those are a lot of dogs. I love dogs, too, although I don't have one. I just love animals, period.

I'm doing okay, moving along nicely with my therapist. Still waiting for disability to send me my paperwork to have my payments re-instated, though. It's typical. They are always slow.

  21. Ok, let's see if I do this right this time.

Thank you. That is Ulysses (Uly for short). He is a sweetie as well as a cutie. He follows me around everywhere and pushes he head into me. :D

    Do you have any pets?

How are you doing, by the way?

*crosses fingers, hoping this message posts to the correct profile*

  22. Neither have I. Never have I ever received a tattoo.
  23. You don't know how rare he is. Oh, he likes action flicks, too. He just told me the best two movies ever were The Terminator and The Wrath of Kahn. But he also likes a lot of the classics like Rear Window and Casablanca. Anyway, I happen to like actions flicks myself, so it all works out. Sorry you couldn't get into GWTW, Abby. But I can understand. It can get boring in spots.
