Usually give up more on non-fiction books than fiction.Especially when you get bogged down with too much data/technical info/waffling.
Fiction i probably finish 99% of books i start.

Read 60 pages of Doug Beatties:Task Force Helmand.

I have read all David's books and this was the first one i read.Think he is a good author.
'First Family' is well worth a read if you are willing to give him another chance.

I used to do that with Mount TBR when it was barely a hill, but after joining this forum, I went from having no more tha a dozen or so books o nMount TBR to having well over 100 pretty quickly and that system failed dismally for me very quickly. I prediodially have a clearout of books I no longer fancy reading, passing them on to other people, selling them on Green Metropolis, or releasing them into the wild via Book Crossing, but when it comes to chjoosing my next book, I just scan the shelves and see what I fancy...
My TBR pile is usually quite reasonable if i just stick to the latest paperbacks from Tesco/Sainsburys,which i try to do.Currently stands at about 14 books.It's when i go to shops like Waterstones that i can easily come out with 8 or 10 books.I limit these visits to every couple of months now.

From Tesco 2 for 1 I got The Scarpetta Factor by Patricia Cornwell and The Chosen One by Sam Bourne
I got these from the same shop,plus Jeremy Clarkson's and John Grisham's latest.
Read 137 pages of Andy McDermott's 'The Cult Of Osiris'.
Good book by him as usual.

Read 112 pages of 'The Forbidden Temple' by Patrick Woodhead.
Not bad actually.Set in Tibet and involving a couple of mountain climbers who are looking for a mysterious temple.
Finished this today,then read 75 pages of 'The Cult Of Osiris' by Andy McDermott.Read all his books and this one seems okay so far.

I don't have a gap as such between books.I have a TBR pile that i tend to stick to oldest first.New purchases go to the bottom of the pile.I am pretty good at sticking to it.

I don't actually keep books that i have read.They all go to the charity shop.
Not one for re-reading,i like new books.

Usually read about 150 pages a day due to working 2.00pm to 10.30pm.Nothing else better to do in the morning.Usually average about 2 books a week.

Stephen King,Dean Koontz and James Patterson have all deteriated in recent years.But i am still compelled to read them in the hope they can regain previous form.

Love Baldacci and Coben.Not read Child yet.
Just finished Coben's 'Play Dead' and really enjoyed it.And considering it was the first novel he wrote it is a pretty good effort.
