  1. Thanks everyone!
  2. I'm 33. I still feel about 25 though
  3. I was born in South Africa, but I now live in England. I've been here for nearly 9 years.
  4. I use our local library occasionally. It's a lovely library but they often don't have what I want so I end up buying the books.
  5. The perks of being a wallflower - Stephen Chbosky Three men in a boat (to say nothing of the dog) - Jerome K. Jerome
  6. I usually read two to three books at a time. I may read a murder mystery alongside Jane Eyre for example. I wouldn't really read two books of the same genre at the same time though.
  7. As many books as possible are displayed in the book shelves in my study. We don't have a big house and are very limited for space, so my less-favourites are stored in boxes on top of our bedroom cupboards and in the loft. I can't wait for the day when I can have loads more space for more bookshelves.
  8. Is noise allowed? The TV or the children? I prefer silence, but that doesn't happen often in this house. As long as the noise is tv noise and not people talking, I can read adequately. Indoors or out? Morning or Evening? Always indoors, and I usually only read in the evenings when the children are in bed. Do you read on sofa or do you prefer to snuggle in bed with a good read? Both. I read on the sofa next to my DH while he watches tv and then we both read in bed just before we fall asleep. Is a cuppa close to hand? Do you feast while you read? Sometimes. It depends on whether I'm hungry or if the book contains descriptions about food or tea. Then I often eat or drink too! Does everything have to be just so? Before I had children - yes. Now - no.

    Hello!

Hello everyone, I'm so happy I found this forum I'm mum to two young girls and I'm currently studying towards an Open University English Literature degree. I've always loved reading and I often end up compulsively buying books. I look forward to chatting to you all!
