I am looking forward to The Leopard by Jo Nesbo
Me too I am trying to resist the pre order on Amazon at the moment
-
I am so glad I bought one for my dad for Christmas he is loving it and I get daily updates on what he is reading and downloading. I am glad I didn't bother with the 3G version for him as he can't get a singnal in his village anyway and is a slow reader, so he can wifi in his own home. My mum said she woke up yesterday to find him sat up in bed in the dark looking through all his electronic gadgets which are lined up on his bedside table.

I finished Mockingjay the third in the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins this morning before work and can I just say I was in bits, there was some serious repair work needed with makeup to disguise the crying, but then I am always an emotional wreck and these books tapped into everything that brings out the emotional in me. I really recommend it

Midsummer Murders!
A body count of 20 and rising?
Indianna Jones Raiders of the lost Ark (0h its just like that at work)
-
I have decided to forgo the last part of my book until tommrow in favour of wthing Raider of the Lost Ark on tv...sometimes I need to remind myself why I got into my job
-
I read Poison Study and the 2 others in the trilogy (well I think there are only 3) and enjoyed them, they are good fantasy novels.
I can't decide whether to go home and finish The Hunger Games or leave it in case I wake early again tommorow morning and finish it then, I might not be able to resist until then...oh decisions decisions

I can't listen to Baker Street without shuddering it used to be the gymnastics warm up when I belonged to a club we all had to stand on matts in the most horrible leotards stretching and doing handstands etc...suffice to say I was terrible and it was a long time ago.

Hi Charm some great books there I ahve read quite a few of the Paranormal and the crime/thrillers and a couple of the others and loved most of them, I think if you mojo is awol go for a stand alone book Erica Spindler or the Tess Gerritssen you have on there, that might kick start you into reading or if a series is what you think you need then Kelley Armstrong....hope this helps, I keep wondering if I should do a list but I don't have a TBR pile as such more of a buy and try
-
I am most of the way through the third installment of the Hunger Games and am loving it, don't know what I am going to do when I finish it and what I am going to read next.

The Passage by Justin Cronin
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde (a re read)
Nation by Terry Pratchett
I have read all of these and they are all unfailingly good, I loved The Passage which I read just before Christmas......but its part of a trilogy and boo hoo hoo the second isn't out for ages, a great read though...
Can I also add I finished the second Hunger Games book when I got in from work this evening and have immediately gotten the third one out in anticipation of starting it tonight...
-
Go for it the Hunger Games is great I stayed up til 3am to read it all the way through and am half way through the second one

-
I hate having to return to work I am halfway through the second Hunger Games book and its cramping my reading
-
I was also sad to read about this yesterday he was a good actor and appeared in a lot of films usually just small parts but always very very good.
-
I have a complaint, I stayed up lst night til about 2am to read the first book of the Hunger Games stop recommending good books to me I will never get any sleep. WeIl am on the second one now but I have to switch the light off to get up for work tommorow.

I've started off the year with The Snowman, by Jo Nesbo. It's quite eerie and atmospheric already, a promising start
I loved it hope you enjoy it.
I bought The Hunger Games Trilogy today in waterstones \s recommended on here so hope its good.
-
I finished Andrea Camilleri - The shape of the Water this morning but my afternoon reading and pottering has been disrupted by car breakdown but home now so might go read now

3 - Masking Tape

I'm just over 100 pages into Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde, and am finding it quite odd and a little confusing to be honest. But seeing as he's one of my favourites I'll carry on. I also went out and bought 7 books that I clearly needed eventhough my TRB pile is over 200 books already!
It took me a while to get into this one as well but it is good once ot gets going and you get a bit further in, I am not sure its as good as the Thursday Next and Nursery Crimes books bit I love the idea of it.
I am most of the way through Andrea Camilleri - The Shape of the Water which although I have read before I am loving it, transporting me to a hot Sicily.
I popped into waterstones today but I couldn't find anything I really wanted to buy, all the sales were a bit rubbish 3-2 on a load of books I own or already read and ones I wanted they didn't have the second one of, so a little frustrated with them, gonna go onto Amazon later and spend away money I don't have
-
I have read nothing today but my friend did get me a couple of Andre Camilleri books for Christmas which is great as I am hoping for an Inspector Montalbano season on the BBc as well.
-
I finished The Passage - Justin Cronin this morning and recommend it to everyone...great book
-
Hi Kylie, I will hate the series because I will read one book and then have to wait for ages for another to come out and will be really frustrated
half the time these days it seems an author writes a series rather than one novel. Its still a great book though so I am just moaning
-
I have almost finished The Passage - Justin Cronin...I love it but I know its going to be of a series which I hate
-
We used to wait - Arcade Fire (a friend posted a fab link on Facebook with an interactive film which shows a video of someone running which ends up at the postcode of your choice)
-
Probably not the best place to put this but those of you who enjoy a little of the foreign crime shows next week BBC4 is reshowing the Inspector Montalbano of Andrea Camilleri's books, I have seen some of these before but they are excellent and I am glad they are continuing this season after an excellent Wallender series. Happy Days
