  1. lol. I had a lecturer at uni with long grey hair and it really suied her, she was a bit hippie and witchy tho, I think men look good with a bit of distinguished grey, especially if its peppered. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'm off to wrestle with the tweezers....Hate tweezing it makes me sneeze. But its either that or looking like a Gallagher brother, and there are limits. X

  2. Lol. I was beginning to feel like a **** zoo exhibit!!

  3. My chums are over it. And I'd feel a divvy going on my tod so probably not. But I hope you have a blast. I had the live album and everything. The bit at the end when Frank says 'Wait, I can explain'.....the reply is, 'This better be good, you got shot last night.' Wonderful, ageless, classic.

  4. My hair has been all different colours. But as I had my son when I was 23 I thought it best to tone it down a tad. A goth pushing a baby buggy is just so WRONG. I got my first grey hair when I was 20. I'd love to let it grow our to see how grey I am, but I'd probably look like a red neck's mule, so I think I'll to chocky colours as that was what it was originally. Your hair is really lovely, don't dye it till you have to. It's a right pain

  5. No scandalous midgies though. Man those devils are vicious. Thanks for the Dropkick Murphy's tip. I think I prefer the Pogues, they were the last band I took my dad to see before he died. But there's nothing worse than having a tune in your head and not knowing who or what it is.

  6. Not said 'hi' for ages, new allotment unsurprisingly time consuming. I'm busy obsessing about green beans! Hope everyone's thriving and surviving x

Yes, you have been out of circulation, haven't you? Welcome back!

  7. Oh and James Ellroy is now on my list. No joy in the library today though :-)

  8. Ooh that'd be a great choice Sarah. I really hope you get it. I'll keep the proverbials crossed and wish you all the luck in the world. Make sure you let us know how you get on.

  9. Oooh dissertation joy. I remember that. What are you studying? I don't bother with Easter either....just an excuse for more chockies and an extra day or two off so I can write.

  10. Rats. Oh well, I'll catch it next time.

  11. Scotland is probably my favourite place and I've spent a lot of time in the Highlands. Not been to Fife though, I tend to stick to the west. I was on Skye a couple of years ago. My Mum is in the throes of buying a small holding and in a couple of years when my sproggy has flown the nest, I'm selling up and joining them. No more nasty concrete for me. We're looking to buy near Kirkcudbright though....not what I think of as proper Scotland. Staffs is one of those places you go through to get somewhere more interesting. Still at least it isn't Stoke.

  12. Shouldn't your sig be 'Don't dream it, be it'? I've loved every performance of the Rocky Horror I've ever been to. Such good fun. I have really big feet, size 10, my friends hubby rings me to borrow my heels whenever they go to see it.Lol. Hope the world is being good to you. Coffin Nail. Lauren x

  13. So sorry to hear your news Janet. I hope you're getting all the support you need, but if you need a shoulder or need something to talk/shout/cry at, don't hesitate. Take care hun, you're in our thoughts. Lauren x

  14. Still not happy with the ending of the first episode of the crime drama wot I wrote. Need a hook for the next ep. If anyone fancies a read of my work in progress; it'll be better than a sleeping pill.

I wouldn't say no to a read? Pop it in my inbox or email me on bhjohnson@hotmail.co.uk (:

Thanks Ben. I've started unpicking my script so it's not reader friendly at the mo. I'll holler when it's ready. Hope all's well :-)

  15. Tee-hee. By the time I get to the BAFTA's I'll be easy to recognize, everyone will be tripping over my zimmer frame whilst I try to stalk Ken Stott. I prefer grit to gloss. But I'm aiming for a northern Lynda La Plante so I guess its inbetween. I'm trying to steer clear of police procedural and write it through the eyes of a very amiable serial killer who runs a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. She only kills the bad guys and composts them. She's sleeping with the local DI too. I've promised myself a read of the fantasy market just as a change from crime.

  16. Tescos on a Bank Holiday. That's grim! Well chin up, it'll be Friday soon, official chippy tea day.

  17. Thanks for accepting. I'm fairly groovy...I'm just had a Gene Hunt fix, and now True Blood, what more does a girl need. I'm off to the sticks for a weekend away tomorrow. Change is as good as a rest and all that. How's things with you? (Coffin Nail) Laurenx

  18. Thanks for the bday wishes. When I've finished spreading horse poo about the place, I'll be back. X

Take your time, and don;t forget to take a shower! :P

  19. Thanks for the good wishes. I'm sure I'll be fine in a day or so. I finish work tomorrow for two weeks. We haven't got any firm plans, but we are heading up to Scotland for a few days. Hope the weather improves or I'll be ditching the shorts in favour of thermals. Hope all's well with you. Sorry hun, I'll have to cut this short to throw up. Again. Speak soon. xx

  20. Thanks for the lovely birthday wishes. Went to York for the day. It was lovely.XX

Belated birthday wishes from me too :)

Glad you had a good day I love York.

  21. Thanks Mac, as half of one of my bookshelves is devoted to Calvin and Hobbes yours is a cracker too.

  22. Thanks. I really miss them. Thank god for endless DVD watchings. I love the first series when the policeman comes looking for the walker and Tubbs says 'We didn't burn him'!

  23. The DI is completely safe, he might be her little helper though. I want the audience to question her sanity, and they should want to her to get away with it. Always good to be present at the birth of a new idea. The worst thing is when you have an idea that's more exciting than what you're currently working on. Sounds a bit Bladerunnery. Cool. Hope you'll give my script a read before I do the mail out to production companies. Enjoy your musing...

  24. Was taken to hospital on Sunday, given the last rites, but live to fight another day. I have viral meningitis and have to take 20 different pills everyday til I'm well again. So good to be home
