  1. I've only read a few: Middlesex The Kite Runner The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night-Time Never Let Me Go Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows War and Peace The Da Vinci Code Atonement Life of Pi
  2. Found it very difficult to choose but I love these three in no particular order: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte Persuasion by Jane Austin Anna Karenina by Tolstoy
  3. I completely agree with you. I really enjoyed 'The Other Boleyn Girl' and 'The Queen's Fool' but I couldn't finish 'The Other Queen'. I shall have to give the new book a try after your recommendation.
  4. Don't worry I know exactly what you mean about being open minded. My problem is that everyone I know at uni. are constantly talking about the novels/films and I think I am suffering from a bit of overexposure. I think if I wait a while before I read them then I might be more open minded.
  5. I think I was slightly worried that the rest of the series wouldn't be as good as the previous novels. However, after your recommendation of Genesis, I am going to try and force myself to get over my fear soon. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the recommendation I think I might try and read them in a few months when I don't feel as strongly about all the hype. I must admit I am slightly curious to see how the characters are portrayed in the novels and perhaps I will appreciate them more after reading.
  7. Hey everyone, I've read the series up to Skin Privilege and I have to say I love them all. I think Karin Slaughter does a great job in portraying all the characters as I quickly fell in love with them all from the very start. However, I am still recovering from the rollercoaster that was Skin Privilege and have not been able to bring myself to read Fractured yet.
  8. I have always loved this quote from Jane Austen's Persuasion: - "You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope."-
  9. I stubbornly refuse to read any of the Twilight books. I have seen the film and although it wasn't a bad film it was definitely over hyped. I don't see how the book could be much better.
  10. Hi, my name is Grace and I have just joined the forum so I thought i'd introduce myself. I'm currently studying law at university in Scotland but during the holidays I live at home in Northern Ireland. My favourite author is Jane Austen and my favourite novel is Jane Eyre. I have a passion for classic 18th and 19th century novels but enjoy modern fiction too. I also have a keen interest in non-fiction and, in particular, history. I am hoping to share my interests in this forum and hopefully gain a few recommendations for my reading list.
