  5. Hi there! It is an awesome place to meet fellow minded Bookworms, yet getting down your TBR mount? Nah, I don't think so. You willl find recommendations on every post, and I have read books that I never dreamed of reading before. I am sure you will have a great time here, I hope to see you around. I am not a Chick-lit fan but I am sure our love of books will cross past at some point. Take care CW!
  6. I got a lovely Celtic one from my aunt for Christmas it is so pretty and is made of silver.
  7. Book #28: Moon Called by Patricia Briggs 'I didn't realize he was a werewolf at first. My nose isn't at its best when surrounded by axle grease and burnt oil ...' Mercedes Thompson runs a garage in the Tri-Cities. She's a mechanic, and a damn good one, who spends her spare time karate training and tinkering with a VW bus that happens to belong to a vampire. Her next-door neighbour is an alpha werewolf - literally, the leader of the pack. And Mercy herself is a shapeshifter, sister to coyotes. As such, she's tolerated by the 'wolves but definitely down the pecking order. As long as she keeps her eyes down and remembers her place, the pack will leave her in peace. Hardly a normal situation, but then, Mercy Thompson is not exactly normal herself...and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble. Ok I randomly found this at my loca library and was not sure what to expect as the blurb on the back was pretty fague, not sure why to be honest it would not have given much of the plot away, but I will try and do my own DIY blurb: Moon Called introduces Mercy, a female mechanic who can shape-shift into Coyote form. When a teenage boy walks into Mercy's garage asking for a job, she realises he is a werewolf. Mercy soon regrets her decision to employ the youth, as the local lycanthrope pack are riled when their alpha male is attacked. Ok many twists and turns and I found Mercy to be a fantastic lead character, I warmed to her instantly. ok so alot of the princable and 'theories' of werewolves were not very different, I found the plot to be different to what I had read previously, even though I am a newbie to the fantasy genre. There are MANY charactors in the book, so I got a little confused with and I had to go back inthe book to check who they were, but that for me did not amke me looks any of the empathy of any o the main charactors. There are vampires, witches and of coursde warewolves. If you do care for the main charactors the ending will make you want to read the end of the series. But all in all a readlyy good book, which I found personally better than Bitten. Pros: A quick read, which lays the introductions to many charactors, with many twists and turns; good for YA, as there hardly any romance, and NO sex scenes, also no swearing, maybe one curse word. Cons- The whole werewolf thing was not that much different to others in the genre, with no different theories on wolves. There were many charactors in the books, some I totally forgot about and had to go back in the book to remind myself who they were again. 8/10

  11. I have done no reading today as I have been a professional Lego builder today, but I did recieve some books; 1* Dan Brown- the Lost Symbol 2*Secret Societies (revelations about the freemasons, Templars, illuminati and the Serpent Cults. 3*Birdman - Mo Hayder. So I am really happy about that! On Boxing day I go to my aunts where I basically have a day off and they entertain the kids and I get cooked for. We also have sacks of presents there, and I have been hinted to that there maybe another book for me.. Whoooo hooooo!!! Hope you all had a great Christmas!!

  18. Look forward to reading your review Peacefield. I am 99.9% sure someone has got this for me for Xmas so I hope it is good. As for that Ghosthunters book, that sounds AWESOME! I love the show, please please please let me know what the book is like, I would be really interested in purchasing it if it is good. *Goes ands watches the show OnDemand* As for my reading activity... Well I have read 5 pages! Whoopie . I have wrapped books for my boys if that counts. My youngest is a huuuuge fan of the book The Gruffallo. I have read it to him every night since he was 2. I do all the voices and it really makes him laugh. I found a limited edition one in the local bookshop (A last minute buy). I also got my oldest son a book from the TV show Merlin. It is the only one I have found, it is a soft paperback copy for 'younger readers' and has comic style pictures and the font is a lot larger, perfect for my dyslexic son. I think I have overloaded them with books this year, especially my oldest with loads of books about history and knights. If I am not able to come on here again... I want to wish you all A very Merry Christmas now.. thank you for being my friends in 2009, and I look forward to meeting more of you in 2010!
  19. You too mate!!!

  20. Yeah it is pretty good, seem to be getting through it especially as I have had to put it down alot as I have been so busy. But I will let you know when I have review it. I hope to have time to finish it tonight, but I still have a little bit of wrapping to do.

Other than that yeah I am all ready to go. Getting the veg and dairy products tomorrow. The kids are making life difficult with being all hyper about Xmas!! Hahaha

As for snow I think we are the only part of the country no affected. We had a flurry the other day but melted within an hour! The boys were not happy. We have had bad ice though, but thats about it so travelling has not been a major issue.
