We had to watch the film for English a coupla weeks ago. This is the one where it stars that guy who plays Sirius Black as the young Dracula, right? Oh well.
Just to point out - Mina Harker is not the exact replica of an ex-wife. And the story is set in Whitby in Yorkshire not in London - also Dr. Van Helsing IS NOT spooky but a kind gentleman. And Dracula is truly evil.
The only thing the film got right is that Jonathan Harker goes to the castle at the beginning to sell Dracula a house in England and that Dracula trapped him in the castle with the three brides.
Just warning you - in case you loved the film. Personally I prefer the book! There was a ballet done by an American ballet company that stuck more true to the plot than that film!

I just hope they actually end NCIS properly instead of a sudden cancellation!

Batchelors Chicken Rice, Chicken Sausages, Sweet and Sour sauce.

Just got some from Fantasy and Sci-Fi bookclub. Two Jo Graham books and Ursula Le Guin.

Run Lola Run was pretty weird but I loved it ... that's my only experience of German movies.
I didn't like Shark Tale, not sure if I said that already. Didn't like Men In Black 2 either!

I think it's because poetry is actually a personal experience unlike prose. I didn't really like poetry until I read Dulce Est Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen. Before then I had absolutely no interest in poetry - aside from the odd comic poem. It's finding the right one for you - like a life time partner.
My sister doesn't like poetry very much but the Moth one I shared on here she liked and could understand the 'skill that went into it'. Which I think is strange as she's a song writer ... and to me, songs are poetry - Just got to listen to some Beatles lyrics and Nightwish lyrics to see that.

I love pizza! Especially home-made from base up!

Oooh, I love Dracula, it's absolutely wonderful and scary but a touching love story nonetheless I just hope you haven't seen the Gary Oldman film first because that was a case of fanfiction rather than adaptation!

Nooo, how could you not love this? IMHO it's a gorgeous book! Any specific reason for your dislike, or did it just not grab you?
I just got bored with it! I began to get fed up with it. To me the story finished when the Princess was named after that I felt it was dragging - Never Ending definitely what it said on the title, and I just got annoyed with the characters.
-
I couldn't get into it but how about NeverEnding Story? That is a story of a boy who influences the plot as he reads. I got half way through and had to stop as I couldn't like it - my sister loves it!

We had chicken korma for tea
Mmmm. I love Chicken Korma!
We had Roast Chicken and Roast potatoes last night for dinner, not a big fan of roasts.

I've heard ITV are thinking of scrapping Lewis - which would be a shame as that is an excellent show and a worthy follow up from Morse. I hope ITV change their minds and scrap Help! I'm a (Z LIST) Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Personally half the celebs on the show I want to KEEP in an Ozzy Jungle!

Bodyguard the one with Whitney Huston and Kevin Costner.
Ferris Buellers Day Off ... probably controversial but I just found it annoying.

I must admit I can't stand the Simpsons but I do like Futurama. I would watch this!

My top 5 faves
Nightwish both singers
Pink Floyd
Duran Duran
Evanescence
Lacuna Coil
There are LOADS more but I can't think of them right now!

I would like a special one and a half hour special of Friends and what they're doing now. See what kind of mum and dad Monica and Chandler are ... Are Ross and Rachel finally in a proper settled relationship without all the emotional we-were-on-a-break stuff! Is Phoebe a mum to her own set of twins? And has Joey finally met a good Italian girl feeding him properly?
There are LOTS of possibilities for a special reunion!

Four? Mine's more like four hundred. After I read Worst Jobs in History I think I'll read another book I've had for years... The Pastons: Diaries of a family that lived through the Wars of the Roses. I need to do research for a book I've been writing for ages.

Ooooohhhh yes, Heather, thanks for that. This evening my parents and I watched three episodes of Season Two. The one where he fell for the doctor - it had my favourite Abby/Ducky moment of all time ... even my mum reacted to this:
"Well if this doesn't work out then I am still available!" mmmm
Yes PLEASE! Wear your work clothes, Ducky!

That was cute. My late dog had a lot to put up with when we got three kittens towards the end of his life. Though two of them LOVED him and wanted him to play with them the other one just ignored him!

Well a very belated welcome to you Naivion - judging by your posts you are already enjoying this forum so ... continue enjoying, and David Eddings is WELL WORTH reading!

I was born in Luton Bedfordshire. Lived in Dunstable for the first seven years of my life, about four months before I was eight we moved to the Forest of Dean where I lived for seventeen years of my life - the happiest nine of those in a town called Lydney... *sigh* miss that place soo much.
Now I live in Wales - Brecon Beacons.
Goodness knows where I'll die!!!!

Did anyone watch the One Show earlier? The delightfully charming and absolutely drool worthy David McCallum was on - they spoke a lot about NCIS even showed a clip from Season Five!!!! I am watching Season Two at the moment. The first episode. I needed David McCallum ... I am feeling poorly.
Apparently they are doing NCIS: LA style too!!!!

I just found it boring half way through - and I couldn't care for the characters and it was sending me to sleep instead of igniting my imagination and there was hardly any humour in it - I like a book with some humour in it. It was not for me.
