  1. I haven't read any of his books as yet but have just ordered a copy of The Bone collecter to get started with. I know this book is also a film but I've not seen it. So it wont be ruined lol.

The film is actually quite a bit different to the book so I don't think it will even be spoilt!

I always prefer the book versions anyway...

  2. I've read most of them but still have the recent ones to read (Nine Dragons, The Brass Verdict and The Reversal)- I even got my mum reading them. I really struggled with The Overlook though - couldn't get into it at all which is why I think I haven't read his last 3.

The Lincoln Lawyer and The Closers were probably his best!

  3. You know I would love to see some of Enid Blyton's books come to the screen like The Famous 5 and The Secret 7.I think a lot of kids would get some enjoyment from her books coming to life..

They actually did a couple of the books as a TV series in the 70's I think (I saw them on video in the 80's). The ones I saw were 'Five go to Smugglers Top' and 'Five go off in a Caravan'..

I would really like to see the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child to be made into a film/TV series! I have no idea who would play him though...Not sure who could live up to the '...men want to be him and women want to be with him' tag!

    Perhaps George Clooney.

Another character who I'm surprised no American channel has picked up on yet is Lee Child's Jack Reacher. Not sure I would want them to unless it was done really well with a quality actor.

    Completely agree with this one!

  4. I love watching F1 - Bahrain was a bit slow though, Australia is what it should be like with the excitement of overtaking etc...

Glad with the result though as I'm a bit of McLaren fan, felt sorry for Sebastian Vettel though. Will his car ever cope with a full race?!

  5. I'm getting into the Sixth Lamentation, I read a bit more yesterday and am quite enjoying it.

Currently reading The Railway Detective by Edward Marston and I'm enjoying it so far. It's quite interesting to read a mystery book set in the 1800's as I've never really read any before apart from The Bone Garden, which switches between the current day and the 1800's..

I had a copy of 'The Sixth Lamentation but for some reason never got round to reading it! Let me know how you get on with it!

  6. *High fives* all round, my dvd has been shipped out!!!! (yes I am super excited!!!):smile2:

I ordered mine from Play.com and had an email this morning saying it had been posted too!

I remember when I ordered Twilight, it was due to come out on the Monday and I received it in the post on Saturday morning - yipppeeee!

  7. Has anybody read 'The Resurrectionist' by James Bradley? I saw it in a charity shop so bought as it sounded quite good plus I'd just finished reading 'The Bone Garden' by Tess Gerritsen.

However I looked at the reviews on Amazon and they were terrible! It seems okay so far - I checked on here and some of the reviews said it was okay but very gory....

  8. I'm sitting here watching the end of the Buffy Prom episode with tears running down my face. :D

    It gets me every time.

    'Buffy Summers ~ Class Protector'

. A brilliantly conceived and enacted episode from all the cast; Xander and Cordelia's interactions, Willow looking terrific, Giles being Giles, Wesley being a numpty, and Angel (nuff said).

I watched this the other day on Sci-Fi and love it! It's so sweet that they acknowledge what she has been doing without anyone appearing to actually notice.

Started to tape them on Sky+ as they seem to be repeating them from the beginning - I like these ones are they are lighthearted and funny! I watched quite a few of the series when they were originally on but they just started to get depressing!!

  9. Oh I heard about the American version - not sure what to think of that..

I got my boyfriend the boxset of both series for Christmas and we re-watched them in about 2 days!! I forgot how funny they were!

Whenever I hear the A-Team tune, I start humming it fast and laugh at them raving to it!

Black Books is another good one!

  10. I finished The Five People You Meet in Heaven, such a lovely book,

but then I made the mistake of reading the extract from Tuesdays With Morrie at the end of it, and now I want that book! :D

Have you read For One More Day? That's another of his books and I really enjoyed that one too!

I'm reading Keeping the Dead by Tess Gerritsen and it's not as good as The Bone Garden so I'm struggling slightly!

  11. If I've enjoyed a book I tend to keep it otherwise I pass them on to my mum, she then passes onto her neighbour etc...

I do give a lot to the charity shop near my house although when I drop them off I tend to have a look a what they've got in and end up buying more!

  12. I read this one last year Melisa and really enjoyed it! I loved the flashbacks in time, learning about Resurrectionists and such. It was so interesting :friends0:.

The flashbacks were so interesting and well written. I was impressed with the research that has obviously gone into the book!

I really enjoyed reading it and am glad that I finally got round to starting it.

I'm going to try and find any books similar about crimes during this particular time!

  13. I've seen:

    The Sixth Sense (1999)

    Unbreakable (2000)

    Signs (2002)

    The Village (2004)

    Lady in the Water (2006)

    The Happening (2008)

I quite liked the first 4 but wasn't keen on the last two - I thought Lady in the Water was awful and The Happening was just boring!
