  1. Rofl, we have been through this a couple of times. And yes, I need to calm down.
  2. What do you mean, AT LEAST?!
  3. The Last Continent- Terry Pratchett Blurb: This is the Discworld's last continent, a completely separate creation. It's hot. It's dry . . . very dry. There was this thing once called The Wet, which no one now believes in. Practically everything that's not poisonous is venemous. But it's the best bloody place in the world, all right? And it'll die in a few days, except . . . Who is this hero striding across the red desert? Champion sheep shearer, horse rider, road warrior, beer drinker, bush ranger and someone who'll even eat a Meat Pie Floater when he's sober? A man in a hat, whose Luggage follows him around on little legs, who's about to change history by preventing a swagman stealing a jumbuck by a billabong? Yes . . . all this place has between itself and wind-blown doom is Rincewind, the inept wizard who can't even spell wizard. He's the only hero left. Still . . . no worries, eh? My Thoughts: Brilliant. Average ending though, but other than that, Brilliant. Brilliantly written, brilliant humour (OF COURSE!), average plot, BRILLIANT characters. I give this a 9/10!
  4. ROFL, Hey, I can do essays in a day too! I just... wait til the last minute.

I am so tired right now. It's like, 11.30pm and I'm tired. I can't sleep before 12 for some reason... It's a weird thing, I hate it. Grr.

Have you read any of Terry Pratchett's books?

  5. I haven't heard of most of the books you mentioned! You must tell me about them. I've read all of Dan Brown's books, and I LOVE them, they're so full of mystery, and good plots. Well, most anyway. And I absolutely ADORE LOTR and The Hobbit. They're the books that made me fall in love with reading. And My sister likes Cathy Kelly. I put some of her books in my list but then took 'em off for some reason... Can't remember why. I have Anne Rice and Jane Austen in my list too. I tried Pride and Prejudice more than twice and 'fraid I wasn't very into it. It always makes me fall asleep for some reason, and I drift off, too. Since everyone likes her so much, I think I'll finally finish it this time 'round. I have to try at least.

What are some of your dad's fantasy books? And Grr at essays! I have a few stuff to do too...And I have an essay due next week which I haven't started yet. Maybe I should... Oh well.

  6. It's funny I was quite the opposite. I thought Bella was quite annoying and the guys I thought were cool. But yes, maybe you'll actually like Sloppy Firsts! It was very good, Megan McCafferty's writing reminds me of Meg Cabot's, you know.. the girl who wrote Princess Diaries? So hopefully you'll like it, no?
  7. Yes, it does! The girl goes on about...certain daydreams about this guy she likes, and does other girl stuff too. But then you went through the Twilight series, didn't you, it can't be worse than them. ...or can it. dun dun DUN
  8. ooh, i would like to know what you think of this book when you're done with it! I really liked it, but...am not really sure if it's for guys... Anywho, Good luck with your list there, Dan!
  9. Ads for... certain 'videos' for your phone bug me. They come in late at night and it doesn't help when you're watching Brother's Grimm with your little brother, ay.

I should...But I live in Adelaide, am 15 years old, don't have a job, don't have money. I shall prolly get a job soon though... I must, if I wanna see all my fave players play next year. unless I just go to the Adelaide International Open thingo, but no one I like ever goes there apart from Hewitt. Free to air TV NEVER shows much tennis anymore. It's sad! They only showed AO, Wimby and I think the final of RG and USO. Grrr. It's annoying. Luckily there's still the highlights in youtube but that's it really. Most of the full matches get deleted after like, a day. Yes, who IS as fit as Rafa. That reminds me of the new outfit he has, for some reason. What'd you think of that, btw? I honestly think it's absolutely horrendous. Why would they need to change it?! Grrr.

Oh you lucky thing! Tickets for the AO musta cost HEAPS. I'm planning on maybe going to Melbourne (dunno how) next year and see everyone play, but I have no money. That helps. Once again, you lucky thing! You have foxtel?! I'm so jealous. I never get to watch matches because not only do they not show it in the new sports channel but our computer is too slow to cope with livestream, so it's either I have to download the matches or buy them, which I do not plan. Grr. Verdasco definitely put up a big fight with Rafa in that match. My friend says it woulda been interesting to see Nando vs Fed but I dunno. Fed'd crush him like a beetle. Plus, Nando made HEAPS of Unforced Errors.

Ah, I just saw you're from Australia! Do you guys have foxtel there? It's annoying how they don't show much tennis at all in Free to air. GRRRRR. They only really show AO and Wimby and that's it. I would have to say Rafa's my fave one. He's the one and only who got me into the sport in the first place, saw that match against Verdasco in AO, and just got BLOWN away. AWESOME match. Unbelievable.
  13. ROFL guys and their video games. Yes, in my home, not alot of people read. Hell, only me and my sister read. My parents always think she's a bigger bookworm though, and only get HER books, and I only get... well, nothing. Plus, she pretty much only reads chick-lit. And yes, I hate it when people are like, You're a nerd! When they discover that you read. It's like, Grow up! And yes, I joined on here to discover more genres too. Get good recommendations off of people and stuff, and of course, to talk about the books I adore. I usually just read chick-lit (influence of my sister), fantasy and teenage fiction stuff. Now, I'm trying to span the genres and get some horror/thriller/crime into my library.

so..outside of HP and Twilight, what are your fave books?

I didn't really start to get into tennis til a couple of months ago, so I don't really know much about when Djerk or anyone really, first started. Yes, Fed's always been so arrogant. It's SO ANNOYING. And Rafa and everyone else still respects him. Ugh. I know, he's a great tennis player but dude. "sometimes the better player doesn't always win in the fifth set. It's just a matter of momentum" Jerk.
  15. I had no idea what was going at first when I read it. But yes, it was definitely an interesting read. It made me think ALOT, and I liked the idea of the whole thing, really. Newspeak, Big Brother, The Fury was it? Or was it The Hatred? I forgot. Very interesting.
  16. I cried for ages too. I was shaking and stuff and had to contain myself and tried to think of happy thoughts. I thought the book was quite bad though. for once.

Eck, don't get me started with the djerk. He's such a stupid arrogant son of a banshee. uck. At least he's stopped doing the impersonations, apart from the trophy ceremony in Rome though. Still. what a jerk. I think I despise Fed more though. now, HE'S more of an arrogant son of a banshee than Nole.

So far, I think Djokovic has posed the biggest threat for Rafa in clay. He's pretty good in clay, as much as I hate to admit it. Ferrer is quite good in clay too, but yes, I was thinking along the same lines as you with Verdasco. Thought it was gonna be quite a challenge for Rafa but, beat him down pretty quickly though. Federer's not really in it lately. Dunno if he'll be in shape for Wimby or RG.
  19. Fraid to say i AM going through the stephanie Plum books one by one. Apparently, it starts out really boring but then picks up somewhere later. So I shall drag myself through it if I must, I wanna get to the funny bits. EDIT: Am also adding Evermore by Alyson Noel. Anyone read this? Apparently it's good according to my friend who recommended the Stephanie Plum books. She say she couldn't get her hands on a physical copy though so she had to read from an e-book thing. I wouldn't wanna have to do that, so I shall hunt my bottoms off for this book. Hunt my bottoms off=request the library if they could buy a copy.
  20. UGH, I hate it when people say that, "I LOVE IT!" why? "THE ACTORS ARE SO HOT!" It's so shallow, really. It makes me wonder, what, is that the ONLY thing they liked about the movie?

You shouldn't have explained the books! You shoulda just let her find out for herself. But yeah, I mean, you found time to re-read 7 books, why couldn't she? She must not have been that dedicated.

Yeah, I remember this guy once said Never underestimate Rafa Nadal in any surface ever, and I think he's quite right. He tends to be stronger and faster than what we think he's capable of. But yeah, he might be really tired because he doesn't have much rest between the tourneys he's doing now.
  22. Sorry Roxi, got carried away, I guess. Won't happen again! She also mentions in Eclipse when Bella cuts her finger with...a thorn?
  23. MissWhitlock

    Tennis

He is quite awesome. He's also beginning to dominate other surfaces as well. Of course he's gonna win RG, but wonder if he's gonna win Wimbledon again this year? Interesting innit.

ROFL, this thread keeps on dying. I shall try and keep it up! Er. Rafa won Rome! Yaay! Against Djerk too, so another Yay! Djoker is actually very good on clay, he had some very great shots in the final. He did his impersonation of Rafa again in the ceremony. It wasn't really funny, since he's done it like, 500 times already, but I like how Rafa gave his permission first
