      Genevieve

salut precious Giulia, how I have missed my butterfly, oui, and now I can come on once in a while and read your beautiful posts. A hug for you and a little candle lighted to night also.

I am all nerves for your owwy cheri. I hope everything was good eh, and you are okay in every way.

  4. has a half an hour speech (2,000+ words) to write for Tuesday, and 0 words to show for it. Normal service shall resume as soon as I've gotten enough work done not to get in trouble at school...

You try "improving" for half an hour re: Macbeth in a roomful of scholars with half an hour of Q&A (a.k.a. grilling) to follow & see how you like it...

  5. Just to say, I've edited your post in the Kelly Armstrong thread having been alerted to a possible plot spoiler; while I was there I also changed the text to black - colour can be an effective way of underlining a word or sentence, but as a rule we ask members to only use it when necessary as it can be quite hard on the eyes :) I notice that Michelle's already tried to alert you to the same rule below; please don't ignore us, we're only working to keep this forum a navigable and pleasant place.

  6. ... that's it, we're both tearful now. Your words fill me with hope, God knows I need it, and tease a smile from my weary muscles - thank you for being the one and only Genevieve.

  7. ... we'll have to stretch them out between events and let them suffice, then!

  8. Oh dear, your cheezing does not sound very pleasurable at all. I suggest you try the alternative type of cheezing, which involves stuffing your face with cheesy wotsits. Granted, they might not be the most nasally congenial things but man, they taste divine...

I hope you found enough energy within to crawl towards that cuppa, and that it branched its warming effusions from the cockles of your heart to the curling tip of your toes.

    x night night

  9. Me/us live in Islington, in actual London :tong:! Just had to move house due to random rent increase (took us all of two days, last night was spent re-filling the shelf valiantly carried by OH) but we managed to find a house literally 500 yards from the previous one so it wasn't that bad!

Good luck with your house offer, I hope you get it, and I sympathise re: debt, I'm currently around

  10. I realised that a lot of people who I should have befriended officially ages ago I hadn't so I decided to put things right today :friends0: I'm alright thank you, apart from joint pain, imminent-return-of-dissertation stress and how-the-:censored:-does-one-write-a-PhD-proposal angst... how about your lovely self :D?

  11. So did I  I realised today that all sorts of people who should have been my friends weren't and I was like, wha? so I hope I've ironed that one out good and proper!

I'm penniless and stressed - nothing new on the Western front, then  - your lovely self :friends0:?

  12. Hey :)

Just to let you know I've had to edit your post in the Writer's Corner section; bold type or underlining can be effective ways of stressing a word or a sentence, but entire passages written in that manner are very hard on the eyes and will put others off - hence why we nicely ask members to post as legibly as they can. Simply a piece of advice for the future, you are very welcome here and we look forward to seeing more of you around.

    Giulia

  13. Just to say: mail received, reply in the making :friends0: thanks for everything xxx

  14. It's quite alright, I just wish I could do more... I've even left replying to this for a little even though I knew I really shouldn't, in the hope that the wait would bring forth inspiration as to what was best to say. I realise now that was silly, how inspired can you be in these instances, there's no such thing as "the right words". Still, I tried looking for them because I wanted to try and make you feel better. Presumptious I guess, and a bit impossible at this early stage; so instead I am just going to remind you that I'm here if you need someone to just be here. xxx

  15. Alas Binary_Digit, I find myself utterly unable to tell you that I'm better: the miraculous healing of my jaw failed to happen rather spectacularly, I regret to say. Turns out a normal doctor can't fix what I have so I need to wait until Monday to see someone who can, he's called a "maxillofacial surgeon" which sounds fairly daunting but to be honest I'd rather be daunted than dislocated. We shall see how that goes...

I'm sorry "The Time Traveler's Wife" has upset you *passes lucky, damage-repairing hankie*, especially as I was looking foward to reading it myself - maybe not a good idea, I am a fairly sensitive type with an overdeveloped sense of injustice and from your review this sounds like it will anger me a great deal.

To be honest, this is all immaterial; I am at the present moment suffering from a complete inability to concentrate on anything for more than two minutes straight, which precludes reading rather...

  16. Hello :) yay for time off work to do nice relaxing things, you enjoy that 'cos you deserve it.

Me, I'm currently on the rocks recovering (barely) from recent emotional upset but at least my writing mojo seems to have put in an appearance yesterday... let us just hope it lasts eh?

  19. Hi :) why you may well have some interesting experiences to share, I'm not sure this is the right place to share them - this is a forum about books. It is a place for friendship also, and regular members do share experiences of living in different parts of the world, however it seems to me that you have joined just for this reason, in which case you're probably better off looking for a forum about travelling ;).

  20. Immediate virtual cuddles are always welcome and helpful, my friend :) thank you x

  21. Always happy to help that infectious smile of yours back on its feet :friends0:

  22. *huggle* why you run away? xxx

  23. ... you're back!!! *bestows hugs* where have you been, I've missed you and so has Gerald! I hope all's fantabidosi with you and that the things you have been busy with were things of awesomeness :):friends0: Much love xxxxxx

  24. Mmmm, bolognese... you sound better at it than I am, you actually follow the idea that the longer it cooks the nicer it is - when I'm home, my Mum will only agree to make it on a Sunday 'cos on any other day she wouldn't have the time to cook it. Me, I never have time (or patience) so it'll simmer for half an hour if it's lucky...!

I understand your conflictedness. Sending you lots of thoughts and vibey things for tonight, I hope dinner with the bridge-builder and the biscuit is pleasant and pain-free.

I'm alright, better than when you last heard from me at any rate so that must be good, surely. Amen to coffee :) you know where to find me if you want one! x

  25. Indeed I find myself not too disinterested with the supplied information, considering that my progression towards Shakespearean Studies evolved from a BA in English & Philosophy! I then forsake the Philosophy because, when a clash of schedules sought to make me drop a module on Shakespeare (!) because of a compulsory module on Philosophy & Literature, I discovered where my loyalties lay - though I managed to stay, as a half-private student, on the Shakespeare course, I ended up sitting in that Philosophy & Literature class thinking "You know what? I wish I were somewhere else." And given that the somewhere else was in a Modern Languages lecture hall in the presence of my very own inspiring, passionate Shakespeare teacher, the path was clear! I did enjoy the philosophy however, though it had to be suppressed as it tried to come between me and literature, but then again - are the two really so distinct?

You have a nice day yourself!
