  1. The city that Sunday morning looked quiet. ~ Laura by Vera Caspary
  2. I think Paula should win, but who knows. I feel so awful for the loser. I can barely look when the two finalists have their hands on the doorknobs.... They draw out the wait, too, and it makes me so tense!
  3. I'm going Italian tonight, too. Spaghetti with marinara sauce, fresh Italian bread and a tossed green salad.
  4. I intend to purchase the series....it's well worth the cost, in my opinion. Thanks. I've had it in my Photobucket for some time now...I don't remember where it came from. I love cut paper silhouettes.
  5. Now that's what I call "bedroom eyes!" *sigh*
  6. BTW....no need for anyone to cover "spoilers" on my account. I'll avert my eyes. :)
  7. I've been watching The Tudors for all of its 3 seasons here in the USA. I love this series! It airs every Sunday from 9-10 PM on Showtime channel. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays King Henry VIII brilliantly, and believe me the real King Henry never looked so hot!! Rawwrr! Looks aside, each episode has me stuck to my chair, unwilling to miss a single second of the action. The storyline of course is exciting, the acting is superb, and the love scenes steamy. Anyone else watching this? If not, check out the official webpage: The Tudors.
  8. I'm an American Eastenders fan. I've been watching it for 21 years now. Only two PBS stations carry it any more, and luckily my local PBS station (WETA) is one of them, showing two episodes a week. We are quite a bit behind the current British season, though. The latest episode here originally aired in the UK on 12/28 and 12/29 2002! In it, Ricky and Natalie kiss at the stroke of Midnight on New Years's Eve at the E20. Laura is pregnant with Garry's baby. She goes to the fish and cips shop to beg Ian's forgiveness. He agrees, if she will reveal the identity of the baby's father. Laura refuses. Zoe enters Anthony's bedroom at the B&B and sees Kat & Ant having sex. After much angst Zoe decides to make up with her mom and give her relationship her blessing.
  9. I love the show. I watch it here in the USA on Fox network. It comes on Thursday at 9 PM. Last week's episode was Episode 513 )season 5). The two finalists are Danny and Paula. Here's some clips from that episode: Hell's Kitchen
  10. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis Little Women by Louisa May Alcott Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maude Montgomery Stuart Little by E.B. White
  11. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
  12. Those are very nice editions. And I love that site! I went ahead and signed up while I was there.

    Hello

Hi Glowmay! Nice to meet you.
  15. I read Bosie: The Man, The Poet, The Lover of Oscar Wilde by Douglas Murray. I was terribly disappointed. Murray down-plays Bosie's homosexuality, in great part blaming Oscar Wilde for having corrupted him. It had become in fashion it seems for hitherto practicing gay men to convert to Roman Catholicism as a way to cleanse them of their "sin" of homosexuality. Murray seems to think that since Bosie subsequently married a woman he was more confused as a youth than homosexual. Of course Oscar Wilde was married.... The book struck me more as a work of apologetics than as an unbiased biography. I also read The Wilde Album by Merlin Holland and The Real Trial of Oscar Wilde by Merlin Holland, both of which I can highly recommend.

    Non Fiction

I read quite a bit of non-fiction. History is my favorite non-fiction genre, especially Tsarist Russia, the Russian Revolution, pre-revolutionary France, Marie Antoinette, the French Revolution, the American Civil War. I also like to read biographies of authors I enjoy or interesting historical figures.
  21. We had marinated, roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and country gravy, and fresh buttered peas. I ate too much.
