  1. I don't really care what people think of what I'm reading. If I think I'm going to like a book then I'll read it! I've been quite lucky and read both The Da Vinci Code and Twilight before the hype really hit. I liked both of them so why should I change my mind once both books went crazy bonkers popular?

I did weep, I foolishly ignored all the negative reviews so I could judge for myself - that's 90 odd minutes of my life I'll never get back :motz:I sat all the way through the film complaining about everything as they just butchered it!
  4. By looking closely at the doll without the clothes on it looks like they mixed ultra fine glitter into the resin Sparkly Edward now sits on one of my bookcases next to the Twilight Edward doll said BF bought for my birthday ETA - She picked up Sparkly when she was in the US visiting family, not sure if they're easily available here yet or not. Try Grindstore or Forbidden Planet

The Dark Is Rising Sequence is in my top 10 favourites and has been reread on a regular basis since I was 9 Just make sure not to watch the awful movie adaptation that they did a couple of years back I was so disappointed with it and also mighty glad that plans to turn the rest of the books into movies were dropped!
  6. My best friend bought me the sparkly Edward doll for Christmas - I'm so ashamed
  7. That is really sad re: the coat - I think that's taking things just a wee bit too far As for the keyring, if it ends up being Jacob I'll post it to you so you can give it a home
  8. I have limited magazine storage so unless someone wants it, it's going!
  9. Oooh, I was right I pre-ordered mine too - see if I get a Jacob keyring or one even vaguely wolf-like it'll be in the bin My lovely friend sent me a Time Out mag that she'd saved for me, it came yesterday and I opened it only to discover that it was the Jacob cover and not the Edward one It's in the kitchen waiting to go in the recycling box!
  10. Oooh yummy, and now I want cheesecake too but there's none in the house
  11. They're Maltesers but with a stronger malty taste and not quite as crunchy I know this because my friend sent me a box for Christmas! Oh, and they're much sweeter too.
  12. Well, you'll really love Maltesers then
  13. Abby, Maltesers are like Hershey's Whoppers but much nicer
  14. You should probably change that to a lot of explicit sexual scenes and the other books have just as many if not more - my older sister was going to buy these for my (very sheltered) 15yo niece until I mentioned those particular scenes and changed her mind about letting B read them!
  15. Oooh, excellent review Charm! They're great books - I read Lover Avenged (book 7) before Christmas and pre-ordered Lover Mine which comes out at the end of April

  18. This may or may not be a short list this year as I'm meant to be saving my pennies - we'll see what it's like at the end of the year The Castle Omnibus - Steph Swainston Moonshine - Rob Thurman Madhouse - Rob Thurman Deathwish - Rob Thurman Trick Of The Light - Rob Thurman
  19. Raw carrot sticks
  20. Poached egg on toast
  21. It's on Channel 4 on Sunday at 5.35 & 6.35pm
  22. That sounds like a fab idea! There were quite a few titles I'd never heard of it so looking forward to reading them Definitely not a problem - I can't wait to get started and I think reading them with other people will make a difference. Plus, I think our discussion about Macbeth (for example) will be totally different to how it was when I was 16/17. Like I said, the majority were so long ago it'll be like reading them for the first time
  23. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell Macbeth by William Shakespeare Rapunzel by Grimm Brothers Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier Snow White and Rose Red by Grimm Brothers Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire Wuthering Heights by Emily Bront War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy All re-reads Mind you, most I haven't read for years - the only ones I've read in the last 5 years are Wicked and Wuthering Heights. I haven't read Rebecca for over 10 years, I read War & Peace in 1995 and Macbeth was A Level English more years ago than I care to remember
  24. The movie is fantastic - I've just added it to my rental list so I can watch it again
