  1. I've re-read The Green Mile by Stephen King quite a few times, always makes me cry, but I love it. Also like the majority, I've re-read HP a couple of times over too. Its so easy to get lost in his story!
  2. An Ed Mcbain book whilst sitting in Ibiza airport waiting for my plane which was 10 hours late
  3. I bought "To Kill A Mockingbird" as it was a classic and thought I really ought to read it. Got about a third of the way through and realised there were better books to be reading out there than struggling to get through it. I think you should try something new every once in a while but read whatever you fancy, it's your time and you should spend it happily reading whatever you want Just my humble opinion
  4. Yep, I got them from here ... http://www.stitchdirect.co.uk/ Just type in "Mirabilia" and you'll see them there. I absolutely adore this designer. There's also a forum on that website too, that should give you loads of inspiration (I moderate it )
  5. Your stitching looks great! I wouldn't worry about the size of the finished picture, just think "one stitch at a time and I will get there". My advice to you, is pick something you love rather than what you think you're capable of, because you won't get bored and will enjoy watching the picture come to life and thus encourage you to stitch more and more of it. Here are some of mine ... http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/61374478WxqPbC?vhost=home-and-garden if you're looking for some inspiration!
  6. She reads along *with* it, she doesn't get ahead, she reads it word for word as she's being read to (does that make sense?) It's a teenage thing, right? Gotta be a teenage thing! Frankie - I love your avatar!
  7. Hiya! Yep, I'm settling in well! I'm from Swansea, been to Abergavenny many times on market day! Lovely place to visit. Take care! xxxx

  8. Welcome GsdSheba! Hope you're settling in ok! Where in Wales are you? My OH is Welsh, from Abergavenny.

I love my ds, particulary Ace Attorney and have Final Fantasy but as yet haven't played it I also enjoy knitting socks and cross stitching.
  11. Thank you everyone!! Actually she listens to the audio books on her ipod whilst reading the book along with it
  12. Hello! Firstly let me say, what a lovely forum this is! I've been snooping around for a couple of days and finally took the plunge and joined. I'm quite a shy person so I probably be more of a lurker than a poster but I enjoy reading what everyone has to say and will happily jump in now and again. I love all types of books and will have a go at anything that looks interesting and comes recommended. I'm currently reading Jeffrey Archer's Prodigal Daughter and Look Who It Is, by Alan Carr. I have a teenage daughter who is into the Twilight books, but will read along with the audio version on her ipod (it's a teenage thing, right? )
