  1. Friends. Television news or newspaper?
  2. A cuppa and some jaffa cakes
  3. I'm going to have to stop looking at this thread. Every time I do, my wish list gets bigger Only kidding, great review, Weave - it looks like another one for me to add!
  4. But has anyone ever really "hyped" the Potter films? I don't remember them ever getting glowing reviews or people I know raving about them as brilliant films, so there's no hype to believe?
  5. It is the first time I've read it, after a few recommendations on here earlier in the year. Glad you approve of the Starbucks time, although it was an enforced visit after giving a lift to OH and waiting to collect him. Bliss all the same, though It was, Joe, it was.
  6. Two hours in Starbucks today and only 50 pages of Rebecca read. The language and style is quite dense and it needs time to absorb all the words, so I think this one's going to be a slow read for me. Loving it so far though
  7. Fountain pen. Fondant or royal icing?
  8. I mostly tend to go off chick lit authors. They start off well, but when their writing never develops and they get stuck in a style, I quickly go off them. Katie Fforde definitely fits this bill, and Alexandra Potter started brilliantly, went downhill so far, that I almost didn't buy any more of her books, but she has started picking up again with the last couple.
  9. I was going to try and wait and get Burned from the library, but I'm going near a book shop today, and don't know if I'll be able to resist!
  10. I'm yearning to re-read the Thursday Next series, but I just never seem to get my TBR list low enough!
  11. Great haul, poppy, but did you leave any for anyone else? My book group are reading The Gathering this month, so I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it, and I've got Guernica on my TBR list as well.
  12. Seeing Poppy's haul from the sale, there might not be much left for you tunn!
  13. I've never read any of his books, but that sounds really interesting. Might have to consider adding that to my wishlist.
