I read to relax and also as a form of escapism. Not that I live a particularly horrific life or anything (lol) but I believe there is no greater freedom than the work of another and your imagination in unison. You can be become free, enraptured or even lost - there are no limitations. That's probably why I go back to regular authors that I love - I do try new authors but I can normally tell quickly whether they are someone who can help me to 'transport', and if they can't I don't return to them. Sorry for butting in - I'm new and not sure of the etiquette so I thought I'd jump in feet first. Hope that's ok.

Hello! Just found this forum through the wonderful power of Google - to start with I stupidly put in 'Reading forums' which meant I was inundated with a load of sites about Reading (the place). Which I'm sure is a lovely place, but not what I was looking for... Anyway, I have found you and I'm hoping to stick around - I love reading and have many authors that I adore such as Stephen King, James Herbert, James Patterson, Shaun Hutson, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Linda Fairstein, Jodi Picoult, Mark Billingham...I could go on but I won't bore you. Not really sure what else to put here, but I hope to chat to some of you and if there's anything you want to know, feel free to ask! BrainFreeze.
