  1. Yeah I'm the same  I use it to keep track of my progress in my challenges, my read list etc etc, and I promise I'll read yours if that makes you feel better

If you want  It's not that great though :) But I like having a place where I can keep track of books :) I've actually been on yours before and I like it!

  2. Thanks so much for that. I like the look of that Blogger one. Do a lot of people tend to go on them? I'd worry that no-one would want to read it.

I think it depends on how many people know about them. I mostly read the blogs everyone here has because they're in signatures so I actually see them when I reply to posts :) I have the Blogger one but I doubt anyone reads it  I just like having a place to list my books

  3. Luck in the Shadows turned out very good! I liked the fact that it was fast paced, full of action all the time and of course I loved Seregil. I'm just sad I can't afford to order the next three in the series right now so I'm left with a cliffhanger.

I was going to start Eclipse but I need a break from the genre so I'm starting "Oriental Stories as Tools in Psychotherapy" by Nossrat Peseschkian. We did one or two stories during one of the courses at Psychology and it was very interesting.

  4. Seems to be that people have different ideas about how to define a 'to be read pile' - to me, if the books are in my house, and I intend to read, they are part of my 'to be read pile'. Is that what others do, or is your tbr pile more about the ones you have as priority?

For me the to be read pile is made from books I have specifically put aside to read or have decided to order. It's why I said I never had one before I joined the forum...I didn't start this until recently and I actually have books separately placed on the bookshelf now

  5. ^^ Definitely, will probably finish it sometime this weekend finally! Haven't had time at all besides reading for exams

Last night I finished a Developmental Psychology book that I had to read for the exam today. It was an interesting read though I thought for a textbook it was rather simplistic. Also I really didn't like the fact every 2-3 sentences something was written in bold (either a name or a more important sentence). It somehow felt very distracting. I do have to point out though that it's not written just as a textbook so I shouldn't complain about that. The part I really liked about it was the chapter that gave advice on dealing with dying people and those that have had a close one die. Generally it was a good read, I'm curious how the exam from it will go today.

  6. Last night's episode was fab! more and more secrets coming to the light, I feel a bit dumb though because it never actually occured to me that Mary (Dean and Sam's Mum) was from a family of hunters! but now we know why the yellow~eyed demon was after Sam and you know why John was so obsessed with revenge because we now know that Mary had sort of sold Sam to save John!

Oh its all kicking off! ~ I love it

Ooooh I loved this episode...so many interesting things revealed in it!!!

    Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

    No. of pages: 230

    Rating: 5/5

Synopsis: Since the beginning of the school year, high school freshman Melinda has found that it's been getting harder and harder for her to speak out loud. What could have caused Melinda to suddenly fall mute? Could it be due to the fact that no one at school is speaking to her because she called the cops and got everyone busted at the seniors' big end-of-summer party? Or maybe it's because her parents' only form of communication is Post-It notes written on their way out the door to their nine-to-whenever jobs. While Melinda is bothered by these things, deep down she knows the real reason why she's been struck mute...

Review: I've read this book several times after first picking it up at the library when I was 15. I like it as much now as I did then, and I still find it as moving. You go through the book following Melinda as she starts a new year at school, something traumatic has happened to her but that's not even referred to until half way through the book, and not revealed until the end. All you really know is that all of the students in her school think she's really weird, and some of them seem to hate her. It's really a book about being an outcase teenager, how hard it is, especially when you're trying to cope with so much. It's very easy to read, and written in a casual style. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading Young Adult books, and I'd also recommend the film as that's equally as good.

I think I'll add this on my TBR list :(

  8. I know the feeling! I had an exam on Tuesday and now I've got the time to read once more. Good luck with your exams. :D

Thank you! I had 12 exams in total (started January 19th, I finish February 5th) but now I only have 6 left so I'm already making plans of taking a weekend for myself just to read!

It wasn't so much that books were forced upon me so much as the fact that I battled all the books I had to read for classes 'til I finally realized I enjoyed it immensely (it all happened when I turned 13 ).

I hope you get to read as many books as possible! And good luck :readingtwo:

    Thank you!

I've decided tonight I'm not going to sleep unless I go through a good part of Luck in the Shadows. I want to know where it's leading and I can't put it off for another day!

  9. Well a good thing you finally did! I always found it amusing when a professor would nearly obligate us to read a book, I would try to resist every step of the way, and then enjoy it in the end. I believe this is how I became fond of the classics. Ironic isn't it? :readingtwo:

It is :D We didn't really have many books forced upon us. Some Romanian classics but generally I can't say it was horrible.

Eclipse was my favourite in the series. I hope you like it.

Same goes for Testimony, you'll have to let me know what you think when you get around to reading it!

I'm borrowing Eclipse from a friend tomorrow so I'll probably read it very soon :( I finish exams in a week, I can't wait to really have time to read!
