  1. I SO agree with you about Midnight Sun. I too think that it gave the initial book a lot more depth and that it would be a very nice gesture from SM to her eager fans to finish it. Not to mention the draft stopped at the worst possible moment, I was the most curious of all to see how things will go in that meadow from Edward's point of view
  2. Maybe that's why I have enjoyed the whole series so much, I was completely unaware of the said hype at the time I'm fairly curious to see what will Mrs. Meyer write about next (Twilight stuff or a completely new book, I am very curious to see something else written by her) (I have yet to read The Host)
  3. You can make that two, I kinda liked it myself
  4. Thank you all very much!
  5. That's sort of how I felt too. But I think the author had wanted Susie not to miss "certain stuff" that she couldn't have had access to while alive due to her young age. I could have done without that scene though, although I do see its purpose. From what I've seen that scene is the most criticized one in the book, people are always complaining about it (me included)
  6. While I could go straight from one book to another (and used to do that some years ago), these days I'd rather wait a bit and let everything settle in. Lately I have made a deal with myself not to start a new book until I have written the review for the last one (as I have this "almost worry" that the information in the new book will somehow "overwrite" the information my brain has kept from the last one; I know it's more of a fantasy than truth but it kept my decision to write things down before moving on up and running). What I do find a bit hard (especially after reading series or long books) is letting go of the characters I've grown to love and care for and start anew with new ones, ones I know nothing about. While chances are I'll grow to love the new ones too, there is always this "awkward moment" at the beginning
  7. Yes, I can see how that can get annoying after a while. I still find it really really cool though (natural enough since I am not the one having to wear it and have people being smartasses at me, so I only get the bright side )
  8. This looks like a perfectly fine name to me. No, more than fine, absolutely great. The coolest I've ever heard in a while. Really. (can you tell that I've always had a soft spot for Irish names + unusual ones that actually mean something? )
  9. As I said, fingers crossed
  10. I love it how you said "if it gets completed" not "when it gets completed" (which is exactly how I would have put it, LOL). If it will ever be ready I'll be shouting my joy from the rooftop so you'll be bound to hear about it
  11. Yes, that's precisely why I didn't like him either.
  12. I wish I had enough patience to finish this huge thing too (I'm very fond of jigsaw puzzles, the way the picture appears a bit more with every piece added, and the way a single piece seems meaningless but it gets a meaning once it joins its neighbours, but all those white pieces do discourage me) I'm planning to resume working on it this month, fingers crossed
  13. Were I to choose a single book I'd choose this one. Other than that any book I haven't read will do
  14. Yep, and keep in mind we're talking about thousands of (almost) pure white pieces, all looking (almost) precisely the same. Such joy, such thrill
  15. Edited my last post and nothing happened so I'll try again: From the author's site: and also about Bella's feelings for Jacob: @RoxiS.C. : Wow, I never saw it coming although I know exactly what event you are referring to. I never thought that Renesmee would exist back then so what actually happened never crossed my mind
  16. I wasn't too fond about Jacob either (nor am I now). Nevertheless I absolutely loved the titles of the chapters he narrated (such as "Why Didn't I Just Walk Away? Oh Right, Because I'm An Idiot." and "What Do I Look Like? The Wizard Of Oz? You Need A Brain? You Need A Heart? Go Ahead. Take Mine. Take Everything I Have."). I think the author chose him because not only he was there all the time but he also was deeply involved in the story (and could see the situation with the eyes of an outsider too). While at first I didn't like the idea of him taking over, I grew used to it and it didn't bother me after a while. All in all, I'm not trying to over defend the book, I don't want to make you read it nor do I say it's a masterpiece. Thing is I myself have enjoyed it (more or less) and been even captivated by it at times, and I found it a good ending to the series (not that it came as a surprise that Edward and Bella remained together, I'm talking about the rest of it, i.e. what happened to Jacob ). I read a lot of critical opinions on it before starting reading and almost everyone advised me not to read it. Well I did it nevertheless (out of curiosity) and in the end I am glad I did. Which sort of explains why I am defending it now
  17. I have no idea where I'm going to keep it when it will be done (it's supposed to be approximately 3 meters wide). Right now it's quite okay as I only have less than one third done so it fits on the floor of one of the rooms (click here to see a pic if you want only be warned it's a part of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling so it's not entirely decent ) As for the patience, I sort of gave it up when reaching a huge white part so I might not be that patient after all
  18. I don't know. While it is true that it's not like the other books were (for starters I couldn't relate to Bella anymore ), I think it's a pretty nice wrap up for the series. And they all lived happily ever after yadda yadda yadda. (what can I say, I love happy endings ) Plus aren't you curious to know how Edward got to read Bella's mind after all?
  19. Yes it does. Although I kinda liked it on the whole so perhaps I am not the best one to state an opinion on it
  20. I've been planning to read this book for ages. So that's what it's about. Yum. (I have only picked it up because of the title, never read the blurb). I'm glad it's enjoyable too
  21. Hi ii

You're right, that was a bit dumb from me, I should have sent a private message. Thank you for thinking about it and deleting the post.

I'm so glad about the books, thank you so very very much. It's like an early Christmas present :D :D

Have a nice day, and thank you again for both things!

  22. Hi Having seen the thread "Random Books Looking for a Good Home" I just have to ask you, are the Fielding book and the Weisberger one still available? If so, how much do you want for them? Thanks :)

  23. Thanks!

I'm always happy when people say good things about my blog as I have invested a lot of time and passion in it. I know it's not perfect by far (doh) and I am open to constructive criticism, but I have been really trying and I do enjoy its being appreciated, a lot (obviously :D )

  24. I get melancholy when finishing books I have particularly enjoyed, because I feel sad I'll never meet the characters I've grown to love ever again. This happens most with big books and/or series (Twilight being one of the latter), because the longer I "stay with" some characters the more attached I get to them and the harder saying goodbye is. Luckily I get over it quite soon because I know there are plenty of books out there with plenty of new characters to fascinate me As for the "I'll never be loved like that" part, I do have the thought every now and then, every time something particularly soppy happens -- but it's only a fleeting moment as I am fairly certain that some of the things happen only in books anyway.
  25. Thanks! I know I keep saying "thanks" over and over again, but you have all been so nice, taking the time to welcome me, the least I could do is thank you
