I dunno would you like it. I'll discuss it in more depth with you on msn.

I hate Fenoglio for what he did to Dustfinger when he wrote the book
-
Admittedly, I liked Angels and Demons more, but I'm a sucker for conspiracy thrillers, no matter how badly written they are!
-
Well yes everyone knows that and Lady In Red, but what about Satin Green Shutters, The Crusader, Lonely Sky, In A Country Churchyard?
-
Well I'm looking forward to it, I enjoyed the other two.
-
Hope you enjoy The Book Thief! IT'S BRILLIANT!

Haha me and Peacefield posted at the exact same time when this thread hadn't been touched in a couple days!

My favourite song about Jesus!
Chris de Burgh - Just Another Poor Boy
He was but a traveller on the lonely road of life,
She, her name was Mary, a lady of the night,
She found him lying in that road, on a winter's night so cold,
Just another poor boy, treat him right;
She saw that he was hungry and gave him food to eat,
She knew that he was weary and he had no place to sleep,
She took him home to her own bed, she lay down his wounded head,
And washed away the world from his hands and his feet,
He was just another poor boy, just another poor boy,
When he cried out in his sleep she held him tight,
Just another poor boy, just another poor boy,
And she gave him love and comfort through the night,
Till the morning's light...
At night she sat beside him, by the fire he would talk,
He said all men were brothers and that love could conquer all,
Many gathered round to hear, many for his life did fear,
In troubled times like these men seldom talked.
Oh they came for him one morning at the breaking of the day,
She woke to hear him calling as they carried him away,
Accusing him of spreading lies and hate,
His public meetings were a danger to the state,
Some soldier said "Who was he anyway?"
Just another poor boy, just another poor boy,
And the tears were falling from her face like rain,
Just another poor boy, just another poor boy,
And they hung him on a hillside far away,
And on the ground she lay ... poor boy ... oh my Lord...
Oh my Lord ... oh my Lord...

I love Chris De Burgh - anyone else like him?

Can we say, 'off-topic'?

I haven't yet read these books, but this is a brilliant thread! Anytime I read about books within books, I always want to read them!

Surely she would at least have heard her old roomates name, and who wouldn't check then?

Lexie and I don't think it's founded.
As Lex said, it doesn't take 5 minutes to look up the content of the books online, and she couldn't have NOT known that Stephanie achieved worldwide fame years ago with the books.
She's got 4 kids and apparently no time - probably means no money too and now she's trying to get some.
Hope so.

Holy hell!!!!
-
I missed it coz mum got the time wrong.

I suppose, he'd probably drive me nuts, and that tends to get me banned

If you're talking about the newest episode, I haven't seen it, but Jody is a complete plank.
-
Major yuck.
I'm watching loads of Hell's Kitchen right now, because we recorded the first four episodes on sky plus and are catching up.
-
I don't know if anybody watches this, but I just saw something and had to talk about it.
They had to kill eels, as always, and some people naturally had a problem with it.
But one guy, Jody, who is a complete
 and he did it no problem. Then, he proceeded to cry because killing living creatures reminded him of the happy times as a child when he went hunting or fishing with his dad or grandad.
I just watched about 6 eels have their heads chopped off.
I think I may become a vegetarian.
Anyway, thoughts on the show anyone? Other than this, I thoroughly enjoy it! It's a great laugh, and I love when the customers complain and Marco has a go at them!
-
Hahaha oh link that guy to this thread will ya!

Michelle, could you please remain on topic?
Thank you.
.....
I kid, I totally kid!!!
ANYWAY, I'm really looking forward to discussion about this book. It'll be interesting to see how much people do or do not read into it, I read into it more as an adult than as a child, but enjoyed it both ways.
Also, the ending is very, very strange.

I was fine reading on a plane! I read Angels and Demons on one 7 hour flight and The Da Vinci Code on the next 7 hour flight!
I can't do ferries though. I could barely walk in the ferry, it was just so disconcerting, moving only very slightly off balance occasionally.
-
I don't like how black and white his characters are. I have, however, since purchase, read the actual Frankenstein, so it'd be interesting to read Koontz's version now. I read a couple of chapters way back when and it seemed alright.

Michelle won't beat a path to my door, will you Michelle?

Yeah, I'm kinda disappointed that the third book apparently ends all happy. Still, the original book stands alone very well.
