  1. Thank you! They were a nuisance because the paper was so light I couldn't use glue - it left streaky marks, so the gold trims had to be selotaped at the back (and covered with a backing card) and the fronts are actually sewn on with yellow thread. Other than the sewing they only took about 15 mins each though. I've never made bookmarks before so I had to make these patterns up as I went along
  2. Awesome! They're all safe ones. Not that I'd complain if you wanted to read the last one and consequently check out Jack's music I have only read Pack Up The Moon out of those three, but I imagine they're all great. One of them is set just up the road from me in Kenmare, where the author grew up I think that's 'The Truth Will Out'. I really must get the two I haven't read.
  3. I was just watching cars skidding too, Ben. And watching my mother as far as I could down the road lest she should fall and require me to test out my skating skills in order to come to her rescue Now I'm watching my brother, who has been up all night it seems, playing GTA 4
  4. Wahey! Unfortunately, I didn't like The Graveyard Book OR The Curious Incident, so maybe I should mosey quietly away...
  5. I want The Child Thief. Now. NOW!! Thanks Kell, I'm gonna grab that as soon as I can, and possibly the other two at a later stage. Given my love of "The Book Of Lost Things", you can imagine how much the sound of The Child Thief appleals to me
  6. I bought a scrapbook-ing pack of materials the other day just because I liked the colours - terracotta, pale pink and yellow and gray/brown. It had little leaves, frames, textured card, string, and soft fabric paper in these colours. So I did what any bookworm would do, and made some bookmarks These are the first three, and I have two more planned.
  7. Don't worry, I should have been more specific! Mental note: That's what the quote tags are there for, Noll
  8. That's okay! ....coz Stargate is on now
  9. Oh no, not you Frankie - Rawr! I got him a copy of Inkheart, but now Inkspell is on his list. I'm wondering whether he mixed them up, or read Inkheart and didn't tell me You should read them again though Frankie, they're awesome
  10. Inkspell? Does that mean you read Inkheart?
  11. Some good books there, Kate! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on The Shakespeare Secret and The Book Of Lost Things
  12. Deep Space Nine
  13. Perfume is an excellent book, Dan, it's on a few reading lists this year! I can't wait to hear what you think of it
  14. That's fantastic - did they say which titles they have? I've only read two of her four so far (her first and latest) and thought they were both great. The only thing I would say about the latest one is it's inspired by the work of an Irish singer that there is no way you could ever have heard, as 90% of Irish people don't even know him. (He's incredible though.)
  15. No it does ring a bell all right, I at least read it!
  16. I have a choice between BBQ chicken pizza and duck spring rolls - I think I'll have the pizza.
  17. I've been slacking a lot lately, but I read 50 pages last night before sleep so I intend to get back into the swing of things starting today
  18. One of the best Data episodes of TNG, one where he is 'possessed' by several personalities - Brent portrays them all so convincingly and switches between them so rapidly that it's amazing.
  19. Wayne Brennan - this really amazing guitarist who is the support act on Jack L's tour - I bought his album and got him to sign it after the gig last night because he really is fantastic.
  20. Roman Holiday is on
  21. Oooh 'The Shack'! I read that, it's not my kind of book at all but I wanted to know what it would say about the subject matter. It's quite an interesting read, though it offers no new insights and the back features shameless pleas for customer promotion.
  22. Awwwww I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that book too, as I don't actually know anything about it other than that it's quite popular.
  23. Oh awesome - I really hope you enjoy it Beth! If you can find her books in a library - I don't know how common they'd be in the US.
  24. Dance on your bookshelves? That rings a faint bell but I don't remember the exact convo... care to refresh my memory?
  25. Music channels!
