  1. Yep, that would be the one! It does have amazing pictures in it!
  2. Seeing as I'm your average (totally obsessed) Twilight fan, I thought it was great. I just wish it had more in it, it is a bit brief. I hope you enjoy it! Have you read the movie guide one? I can't remember who it's by! But I wasn't as keen on that one, although it did have loads and loads of information on the movie, it was more technical than the notebook. Like how they did the 'sparkle' effect and information on the lighting and stuff. Don't get me wrong, it was interesting but it was less about the characters and key scenes. Which is what I'm more interested in!
  3. I was thinking exactly the same thing. I'm the same. I love the Weasleys. Ron, in particular was a firm favourite of mine. In the books and the movies.
  4. Exactly. Having said that, I still loved the book . And I'm so excited that she may be writing two more in the series. I'll definitely be buying those!
  5. Yeah exactly, it really was. I was looking forward to it being more drawn out to be honest. Oh definitely, it's a great read.
  6. Oh, wow, that's such a lovely offer! :) I think I'm going to buy it though, I have a feeling I'm really going to like this series. Thank you so much for the offer though. :D

  7. I really liked this book and gave it 8/10 in the end. I thought it had a really slow start but when it did pick up, I enjoyed it immensely. This was a plus for me. I could understand why Jared was acting that way towards Wanderer and I thought his turmoil was one of the most interesting things about the book. I thought it was inevitable for him to be the way he was towards Wanderer. Having said that, I did think he Thanks for the review, Paula.
  8. I wish I had bookcases here. I have them at home but it's too much effort to keep bringing them back and forth . Me either; I have 3 Twilight posters and a Twilight calendar (plus the books, bookmarks, CD and a bag!). I'm such a loser.
  9. I agree too. As Edward, Robert is so gorgeous! Although, I do think he's good looking as himself too, but he does look completely different.
  10. You've got me intrigued now! Every time I visit your thread, Pip, I always like the look of the books. Thanks
  11. We have a lot of the same books! Like loads. Your bookcases look great though; mine are all piled on the floor. I spied an Edward poster.
  12. Sorry, I don't really understand that. Or why some people are scared to write reviews in case they don't meet a particular standard. I figured the whole point of a review was that it reflected your own personal opinion on the book. Yeah, some can be written better, the same as anything. But it's a review; it's stating your opinion. How can it be criticized for being 'good' or 'bad'? Sorry, it's a sore subject with me. It's just something that people tend to get quite snobby over. I don't see what the fuss is about! Chesil, if I didn't write the notes as they come to me, I'd forget. I've got a terrible memory. I'd probably remember days later and wish I'd put it in.
  13. I tend to jot down general notes whilst I'm reading the book and then bring it all together at the end. I like to comment on the writing style and whether it appealed, what I liked/disliked and a general summary at the end, whether I would recommend it or not. I've started reviewing for every book I read as there's always something to say. Usually takes me about an hour to write a review.
  14. I could never finish The Hobbit either. I tried several times and eventually gave up. Better luck with it this time, Ben!
  15. I'd not even heard of this book. I'm glad you've warned me, I probably would've ended up buying it after reading the blurb!
  16. 11. TWILIGHT: DIRECTOR'S NOTEBOOK - CATHERINE HARDWICKE (20.03.09) This intimate full-colour 'notebook', designed to replicate the one director Catherine Hardwicke kept on and off the set, takes you through the creative process that went into making Stephenie Meyer's breathtaking novel come alive on screen - from casting to costumes, stunts to storyboards. With never-before-seen notes, sketches, and photographs taken directly from the visionary director's personal notebook, this book includes everything from her visual inspirations, to step-by-step breakdowns of action sequences, to a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most pivotal moments in the creation of the film, and much more. Get the inside story - this collectable notebook will be a must-have addition to every TWILIGHT fan's bookshelf! I don't really have much to add as the above synopsis pretty much sums it up perfectly. I loved it! With chapters exploring character development, music, visual effects and all the key scenes in the movie, it's a brief insight into the movie making process of Twilight. I thought it was great. It has a really personal feel to it with fascinating information that any Twilight fan would love to know. My personal favourite parts was the section on each individual character. I completely agree with the synopsis: this collectable notebook will be a must-have addition to every TWILIGHT fan's bookshelf! 10/10
  17. I've only read a chapter so far but going on first impressions, I like the style. Thanks for the recommendation!
  18. Surely that has to win the prize for most disturbing??
  19. Click on my Bee's Books link. I think it's on the first page! There's a synopsis there.
  20. I can't believe no-one has mentioned Testimony? It's the best book I've read this year. Granted I've only read 10 () but it was such a powerful and thought provoking book. Oops, sorry Lexie, didn't see your question. I've only read two of Shreve's books so I'm not sure. Testimony was similar to Picoult in the sense of showing different perspectives though.
  21. What?! Really?? Oh my days, the years are going so fast. I thought that was last year.
  22. Awww I loved Dobby!! Must re-read my Harry Potters soon. I haven't read one since last July (or whenever Deathly Hallows was released!)
  23. It's mad, I've got 80 on my TBR. Around 50 of them I'm really keen to read so every time I finish a book I'm torn a thousand ways, just trying to pick the next one.
  24. I thought the ending to the book was really cheesy but fitting. Definitely less dramatic than the film. I've just thought about this and for once, I honestly can't decide which I prefer as they're so different. I honestly think they're on par with each other in terms of impact, both quite moving and honest. I thought Dev Patel (thanks Lucy!) was fantastic in the film though. In terms of the story, which they changed quite a lot of, I think I prefer the book. I'm surprised you didn't know there was a book. Although, I knew about the book before I heard about the movie. If you do read it, I hope you enjoy it. I'd be interested to know if other people have the same reaction to it.
  25. Yeah, I just watched it today. I can't believe how different it is from the book! Thought it was pretty good though. The main guy was excellent in it. I'm not sure what his name is though!
