  1. I have finished The Hunger Games, which I really enjoyed. It's a new favourite of mine I also bought: Catching Fire (Hunger Games, Book 2) Feed by M.T. Anderson City of Bones by Cassandra Clare Gifts by Ursula Le Guin Gone by Michael Grant If you can't tell, I'm in the mood for some supernatural powers/dystopian fiction Now I just need to wait for them to arrive - I hate bank holidays, no post!
  2. It varies with me. The Time Traveler's Wife is taking me ages, I'm not sure why. I think I've now been reading it for three months, but I keep stopping to read other books. However, I read The Hunger Games in about five hours two nights ago..
  3. I finished Dead As A Doornail - Charlaine Harris, and have now started Definitely Dead. I had absolutely nothing to do all morning at school today because I don't have a lesson until late, so I managed to read over one hundred pages Yay.
  4. I've finished my Sookie Stackhouse books (2, 3 and 4), and have now begun reading Bloodline by Sidney Sheldon. I'm only on chapter three so far, but I do like how it is written.
  5. My boyfriend bought me books 2, 3 and 4 of the Sookie Stackhouse series for Christmas, and I'm a quarter of the way through book 2 right now. I also got given "The Devil in Amber" which I haven't had time to look at, but I believe it's a mystery? My friend has lent me two Stephen King books - Dreamcatcher and Lisey's Story. IU doubt she's going to be getting them back any time soon, as I have too many books to read before those, and exams in two weeks!
  6. I ordered three books from the Tudor series by Philippa Gregory: The Constant Princess The Boleyn Inheritance The Queen's Fool I have already read The Other Boleyn Girl, so am reading the rest chronologically - leaving that one out. I also ordered the last book from the Uglies Quartet by Scott Westerfeld: Extras. And Stray by Rachel Vincent.
  7. Is noise allowed? The TV or the children? I have four younger siblings so my house gets pretty hectic. I don't usually mind noise, as I have learnt to block it out. People usually have to poke me or even take the book away to get my attention. Indoors or out? Morning or Evening? Any time of day. I usually prefer reading indoors, but if I'm on holiday I like to read outside by the pool! Except I do occasionally find it harder to concentrate, and get distracted by the variety of things to do. Is a cuppa close to hand? Do you feast while you read? Chocolate I don't drink when I read though.
  8. Finished The Rogue Hunter, and am a good way through The Immortal Hunter. Going to order the latest book in the series tonight
  9. Sookie Stackhouse, Harry Potter (of course!), Lynsay Sands' Argeneau/Hunter series. Love it! Has anyone else read any of these books? Uglies Quartet by Scott Westerfield. Not very advanced reading, but I like his ideas! His Dark Materials The Saga of Darren Shan When I was younger, I used to love the Alex Rider books. And I still read bits from time to time
  10. I bought quite a few books recently now that I have made my own Amazon account - The Rogue Hunter & The Immortal Hunter both by Lynsay Sands (her Argeneau series) - The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde - And Still I Rise - Maya Angelou (for school, but still!) - The Resistance by Gemma Malley - Specials by Scott Westerfield. I have started reading The Rogue Hunter, but I'm not getting very far with it. So little time!
  11. Started The Time Traveller's Wife, even though I should be reading for school. Ah well.
  12. I've read a few of them! I think I started on the third book and just read a mixture in no particular order, as I found them in a charity shop one time. They were okay, but not the best! I did read the one when the stalker/murderer person was introduced (can't remember her name )
  13. No, I didn't enjoy the third that much either. It became quite confusing. But, I will go to watch the 4th, as Johnny Depp is in it
  14. Zac Efron in POTC4? Hmm, not sure that will work. I can't imagine him doing anything other than musicals or chick flicks.
  15. I do sometimes feel ill. More dizzy than sick. But it depends what car I'm in, how hot it is, etc. I tend to feel more ill if I read as soon as I get in the car to when I need to stop reading. If I start while on the move, I don't feel ill as often.
  16. Hello Bartleby! I'm sure you will enjoy yourself here.
  17. I think this is one of the two Jaqueline Wilson book I haven't read! This, and My Sister Jodie. I think that's the name anyway. How was it? Is it worth buying? I enjoy her books too Which is your favourite?
  18. I don't think there are any plans for making the second book a movie yet. At least, there is no news on IMDb.
  19. I haven;t read the Stephen Kings (yet!) but I would say try those or The Host. Partly because it's the only one on your list that I have read, and partly because I thought it was brilliant! I thought it was much better than Twilight.
  20. Haha, Katie. I sat on one of those in Majorca at my auntie's house. I wasn't too sure at what it was until I pressed the button and got a shock. Great idea
  21. No suggestions, but I have been wanting to read 1984 for ages now! I can't seem to find it in any charity shops around here and I don't want to buy a new one. Anyway, the only one I have read out of those is Pride and Prejudice. It's a good book, I got into it straight away. I had to read it at school though for coursework so I might read it again once exams are over.
  22. I can't remember the chamber of secrets first line either! I think it is probably something to do with Harry being in his room. Perhaps doing homework. I only remember it because I had to read it so many times to my brothers. They forgot what happened so I started again "Almost everyone thought the man and the boy were father and son." 'Salem's Lot, Stephen King.
  23. But how many times have you read "Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much." Believe it or not, that was from memory
