  1. Its a great match

Your name used to remind me of a show that was on in the Uk (many years ago now) called Chimera, about genetic research and a scientist who was trying to make the first human clone. The closest he got was a sort of mutant human, which looked like a cross between elephant man and a chimp! :icon_eek: Thankfully though since you've joined here that image of Chimera has slowly disappeared from my mind to a much more pleasant and very nice lady ;) Strange I know ... sorry :o

I do see what you mean about my mob, they are like a group of club bouncers!

  2. Its the best way to be hun :giggle:

What are you up to today?

  3. Me too! I was the youngest of 5 (I've got 2 brothers and 2 sisters) and its a running joke how spoilt I was, being the youngest. Personally I don't think so of course! :drama: But I was a real Daddy's girl and totally spiralled into a depressive haze when he died 8 yrs ago. I'm a lot better now. Your family's affections sound a lot like mine. :)

My house has changed since the Piper pics were posted, I dont live there anymore  The house I'm in at the min is nowhere near ready to be photographed yet! Its still not finished. I was thinking of doing before and after albums, but I just havent gotten around to it!

We seem to be reading a lot of the same things lately ;) Nice to hear the Sookie books are short easy reads, there's so many of them!!

  4. Morning hunny! How you feeling today after your beer? :console: Glad to see you back of course, definately not the same around here without ya :friends3: My mojo is back, I think, it probably just needed a wee rest after all the reading I'v done lately, I read half a book last night! :D

Oh and I did see that Ruth was talking about Babe, sheep detective! Have a look in the 'Who/what am I?' thread. (Dexter has kinda taken over it too ) I haven't read her review yet, but don't worry I will!!

  5. Morning my dear! I hope you're not suffering today! Your english is brilliant (even when tipsy), better than some english people, so you have nothing to worry about! :smile2: Oh and you're geography is perfectly acurate too  I am from UK too.

I did see the offer and am considering it, they used to do the same offer with Kathy Reich books and I was gonna get them, even though I've read them all, just to have for my mini library my OH is gonna build ... some day

Do they not deliver to Finland then? If you want I can get them for you and post them on?

Btw did you notice you've posted on your own profile??

  6. Morning to you too :D

Must have been strange being on a forum where you seemed to be the only one reading ! I think this forum is getting even busier! I used to come on and be able to get through all my unread posts, reading every one. Now I regularly have to mark all threads as read, otherwise it would be in the thousands by now! Its the first forum I've joined so I thought they were all like this.

I had a great night last night so I'm afraid I'm a wee tad fragile this morning :o It was so worth it though ;) On here for another ten mins then off to get dressed :)

  7. Morning!

I'm much better today thanks, I had a bit of a hangover yesterday (it was sooo worth it though, I had smokes and everything on Sat night! :)) How are you? I hope you've shaken off that flu completely now

Yip my mojo has gone, It just up and left after I finished Sookie! Stupid bloody thing :irked: I have no interest in reading anything I have, you'd think among 40 books I've yet to read I could find one! I'm slowly plodding through Skin Privilege by Karin Slaughter but its exactly that, a plod. I have to force myself to read it and usually I like her stuff

I haven't weighed myself in ages, since I was sick in fact. I'm sure I've put on loads, I can feel it, but I just have no interest at the min, we have a lot going on here, well that's my excuse ;) Glad you're feeling good and weight training, it's a great way to use up fat, remember muscle weighs heavier than fat so you may not lose weight as such, but could be losing inches, which is the whole point! :D

  8. My goodness that was a long post(s)! Yes I'm all organised .. let the fun begin! :D looking forward to cooking the turkey etc tomorro I quite like that :) Rachel my daughter likes to help too and because of the no santa thing i'd quite like to start a new tradition with her. I see wot u mean tho I was devastated when i found out about the big guy ... for about 3 years!

Anyhoo! Hope you and yours all have a great xmas and a fantastic 2009!! (maybe you'll make a dent in that TBR pile of yours!) Take Care Cya soon xo :friends0::hug:

  9. Nice to hear you had a good night, I hope you get your new place soon. Houses are all we do, I don't go out much! They're much cheaper to build yourself, but hard work. This is the last one though, it's taken us 4 years to get this far and I'd like to be in it at least twice as long as it took to build the thing!

Glad you're enjoying Dexter, I thought it picked up again in this one. Did I tell you I've written to Mr Lindsay asking him to guest on here? Hope he says yes :o

I've spent all weekend chillin, its been great. Mind you I have been rather busy on the farm ;) bloody crops die after 4 hours you know! hehe

  10. No probs. It might be an idea for you to click on The Rules tab at the top of the page and then go to New Members thread. You'll find out how to do everything there. :smile2:

    Enjoy the forum!:D

  11. Charm

Nope  My OH's lappy totally died so he had to go get a new one. I didn't mind though, it's been messing about for quite a while now and he was due one. So at least I still have my vouchers to spend in the near future ;) I've also got over 40 on my TBR pile so I think I'll manage  We did have lunch and whatnot out so it was a nice day, then I came home and got some reading done as my electric was off til 6pm, it's surprising how much you miss electricity!

Loving you av btw, great hat! ;)

  12. Not a lot really, D getting the garage finished so he can get the office set up in the upstairs of it, so the place is like a working building site again! Dizzy (the cement mixer ) hasn't stopped all week

I hope things settle down at work soon  Chat soon I hope! xo

  13. Now that you mention it - it does look a bit like choc milkshake! yum!

I'm sure I will enjoy the book haven't read a bad Tess book yet.:D

Btw what age do you need to be to join the forum? My daughter saw the book arrive and was asking me. She's reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the min. She's almost 12.

  14. Of course I didn't mind! He's welcome to her! Nah I don't really mean that ... well sometimes I do, especially when she comes in stinking of cow sh1t, but not today, she's snoring her head off and behaving today. Did you manage to sort out the toilet paper? :giggle:

I'm trying to think of a new title for my 2010 reading blog, not that there will actually be any reading done if I can't get into this Anne Rice novel :irked:, although Charm's Choices 2010 isnt too bad I suppose. Must remember to keep plenty of puppies ;)

Hope you had a lovely new year's night!

  15. Oh ****! I do that all the flipping time! Thanks for letting me know

Thank you for the hugs, I'm all out of sorts today :( I just can't be bothered, think its post birthday blues  Sending you virtual hugs too, I don't want you to be sad :(:console::hug:

  16. Oh believe me I bought my fair share of books as pressies this year .. I shall get everyone into reading if it kills me! You're right though not everyone appreciates them and yes you are running rather late!

Is your b/f into PS3 or Xbox? Perhaps the latest game/accessory would be good, or does he get glued to the pc like we do? then maybe a rollerball tripod thingy mouse? (not sure what u call them :irked:). I got my OH the lastest PS3 game and a new super duper controller and a few other things my sons getting a new electric razor (his first one:mrgreen:) an ipod dock and a beautiful watch. Or maybe he would like some boy toys like a remote control helicopter as we described on Janet's thread? Check out Amazon for some great bargains to this year!

And for goodness sake change your avatar to something Christmassy! Everytime I see it I think of the summer!:friends0:

  17. Oh dear god, no more chips? That's awful! I think I'd just have to stick to the tabs

I'm not sure when Dex will be out apart from it's sometime 2010, I'll definately be getting a copy of it :D Did you enjoy the series? Shame about your mojo too, it's awful when that happens isn't it? I hope it picks up soon. I was on such a roll too

This is indeed my first MacBride novel. I've heard it's pretty good too, it's a shame I don't actually want to read at the min  Have you read any of his?

Kookie needs a bit of prodding to tidy her room, but she's really a sweetheart when she wants to be, she doesn't mind ironing though thank goodness ;) Shame you can't get Emma to be more enthusiastic about cleaning the rest of the house, how good would that be! Heaven!

  18. Oh don't be embarrassed! It's really nice of you to take the time to say so much

.. and Tescos? I don't actually go into the shop, I do it online!

  19. Oh good God I know what you mean, although the last one did drag a bit so it kinda eased me back into reality ;)

I suppose you could take the gerbils with you, much safer than stapling them to the floor!

You need to re-decorate your profile! :D Add a bit of warmth and colour hunny

Btw .. speaking of hunny .. we went for a walk and I taught Kookie how to play Pooh Sticks over the bridge at the end of our road (I won of course :D) . I couldn't believe she'd never heard of them!

  20. Oh good, glad to hear it. I'm trying to broaden my book choices so I think I'll try some of the classics (at least the ones with a 'horror' type spin). Besides Dorian Gray in the film 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' was delish! The Time Travellers Wife sounds interesting too.

I keep meaning to ask you what uni you go to and what you're studying?

  21. Oh I think your Av is much better than the last one - its a clearer view of his face :) Somtimes I think mine is a tad garish :S

Isn't it great about the Tess Gerritsen book. I got straight in there when Michelle advertised the bookring and was first on the list! :)

  22. OH I'm fine now .. well if you know what I mean lol Just a bit sore but can manage about the house on my own now. Miss my car :irked:

I shall quietly mention to my hubby your library suggestion :lurker: lets just say tho with me out of action he is rather busy  lol

I do seem to be permanently attached to this thing but hoping when I'm a bit better that will change :)

  23. Oh I'm so glad you got out for tissue! :woohoo: Piper lives to see another day! But my goodness, -20? That's bloody cold! It's -2 here and I thought that was bad!Nice of BF to lend you his skiing pants ;)

I think I'll just call my blog Charm's Choices 2010, I suppose the two Ch's do give it a certain ring about it. Really seriously thinking of giving up on Anne Rice which is strange for me as I usually do like her stuff, tbh I've wasted more time thinking about it, than doing something about it! Gonna maybe open my blog later, if I don't have too much to drink first, we're trying to finish off all the booze before we start on a health kick! Well .. you have to don't ya ... waste not want not! ;)

  24. Oh I'm so sorry you've had a rough patch hun :friends0: I hope it hasn't been anything too serious. (Fingers crossed the elephants will bring you mountains of good luck!)

You got The Rosary Girls today!! I'm sooo jealous! I wish I was just discovering them again :hissyfit: You lucky thing! I really hope you like it, there's sequels too! Its my favourite read of the last few years :smile2:and Dexter in the Dark?? Boy you're good to yourself missus! Just right - You enjoy them, after a rough couple of months no doubt you deserve them

I've been reading a series from a bookring. Its by Charlaine Harris and the first one is called Grave Sight. Its a nice light fast paced read, perfect to follow Dorain Gray with ;) As for Tess, are you sure you aren't looking at an old thread? I haven't seen anything, mind you I've had to just mark all posts as read a lot lately so it could well be that I just missed it

  25. Oh I'm sorry to hear about the money mix up Frankie, I really hope it gets to you sooner rather than later :hug:

We haven't started decorating yet (I use the term 'we' rather loosely ), OH still painting ceilings at the min.

Thanks for the Dexter info I shall skip along now and add them to my wishlist (I've added 6 today already!) I'm really glad you are enjoying Kathy Reich, I've still got Devil Bones on my shelf but there is so much now to choose from

Be warned! - Avoid my blog!! there are some great recommendations on it from others!

Enjoy your chicken you hungry hegar!!
