Xavier Rudd
Jonny Lang
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band
Robert Randolph & the Family Band
Joshua Kadison
Nobody knows any of them here, except that one song (Jesse) from Joshua Kadison but they wouldn't know who that is.

July was a good month, quantity wise, in reading books. 12!
For this month, my hopes lie in the quality not the quantity. I will see how that'll turn out. I really need some good books...
Yesterday I finally started The Camel Bookmobile by Masha Hamilton, bookring by Chimera.
Good luck for your interview:DThank you Gyre!
-
That wouldn't be good! I'll probably set the alarm on my cellphone, just in case.
-
You have the Sookie books to looks forward to as well
That's true! Book 1 & 2 arrived today and I will read them on the train to and from my job interview on tuesday/wednesday.
I have this feeling these books are great to read on a train.

yeah, Family Tree wasn't good. I didn't like it at all.
There are quite a few "bad" books on my list so far this year, which is a bit sad.
I really need some 4/5 and even better 5/5 books!!
Any recommedations?

The Mentalist is a good show, I really like the main character, the way he behaves and everything. Oh and of course just look at those nice 3 piece suits...
In Germany they show The Mentalist right after NCIS and imo NCIS is still better though.

I'm tempted! When I saw Roxi say there was a musical episode, I got quite excited - my new obsession with vampire stories, plus my old obsession with musicals ... how could I not love it?
The musical episode is awesome, all this singing and dancing
Giles has the BEST voice, most definately!
I even bought the soundtrack from Once more with feeling, because I couldn't get enough of this episode.
Spike's song would be my favourite after Giles.

23. Go Ask Alice - Anonymous
That was one of my favourites during teenage years, read it at least 5 times (3 times german, 2 times english).
-
You're welcome!
I've read the first book last year while I was in Australia, but exchanged it for another book while traveling. As soon as I was back home in germany I ordered all four books.
-
Over the years I read Drop City by T.C. Boyle a few times, also Go ask Alice (Anonymous) and The mole and Beverly Miller by Allan Frewin Jones.
-
Yes, they are chick lit.
Probably like Mary Janice Davidson (but I read only the first of hers, so I can't really say).
Garnet Lacey is quite entertaining and I enjoyed all four books. They are easy, quick reads. All of them a bit less than 300 pages.

Tate Hallaway - Tall, Dark and Dead
Synopsis from Waterstone's
'The line between magic and sanity is very thin. That's part of why I, Garnet Lacey, quit cold turkey. Never touch the stuff. No Exceptions.' Trouble is magic is so addictive, especially when you've got inner goddesses like Lilith to contend with. And it doesn't stop there for Garnet; if you are going to run an occult bookstore then you've got to expect customers like Sebastian Von Traum, with his piercing brown eyes, sexy accent, killer body and total lack of an aura; which means he's dead! Trouble can be so hard to resist, and what with Vatican witch hunters, long lost vampire exes and a boyfriend with an ex-wife who is literally stirring in her grave, Garnet Lacey has trouble enough for anyone.
Tate Hallaway - Dead Sexy
Synopsis from Waterstone's
Between love spells gone wrong and sharing her body with Lilith, pleading innocence might not be so easy for Garnet Lacey. She should've known she'd never get away with murder. Especially when the people she unleashed her inner goddess, Lilith, on were Vatican witch hunters. And anyway, it's not like Garnet doesn't have other things to worry about, like not letting her vampire boyfriend know that her vampire ex is stowing his coffin in her basement. So, what with all of that, plus the zombie students popping up everywhere and the seriously gorgeous FBI agent on her trail, Garnet's got plenty on her mind. There's no rest for the wicked...
Tate Hallaway - Romancing the Dead
Synopsis from Waterstone's
Having dealt with the skeletons in her closet -- the Vatican witch hunters who wanted her dead and the FBI agents who wanted her to spend life in prison -- Garnet Lacey is feeling pretty darn good about her life. But things are about to go wrong. Very wrong. Just as Garnet is finally starting to feel settled in Madison and daydreaming about what 'forever' might mean to Sebastian Von Traum, her daylight-tolerant vampire lover, he suddenly goes missing. As if that isn't enough, Matyas, Sebastian's half-vampire son who is cursed to be a perpetual teenager, shows up looking for his dad. At the same time, Garnet begins to sponsor the incredibly gorgeous Micah as a new member of her coven. Garnet is determined to keep things professional while she searches for her missing boyfriend but Lilith, her inner goddess, has other ideas...
Tate Hallaway - Dead if I do
Synopsis from amazon
Witch Garnet Lacey is ready to walk down the aisle with the super sexy vampire Sebastian. Besides the fact that he has no pulse, things couldn

Well it might be just a difference in opinion but I seem to be enjoying the Inkheart books a bit more than you did.
It's always good to enjoy books as are different opinions. A friend of mine just loooves these books and will "take them of my hands", that means new bookshopping me! YAY for different opinions

A german movie (put me off german movies forever): the weird behaviour of sexually mature city slickers
My friends and I left the movie theatre during the movie, it was so bad. That never happened before or since.
-
I still need to finish the third book though. I can't stand to stop somewhere in the middle, so I'm telling myself that it's just (a big) break and read a lot of books inbetween. Well, and I do want to know how it ends.
The second book was not bad, but also not as good as the first. It just seemed to me, that the author wanted to make a trilogy no matter what.
-
I still haven't finished the last book of the Ink trilogy. I stopped somewhere in the middle 1 1/2 years ago, I got so bored! But I really liked the first book! The author should have stopped there imo...
