  1. Sorry to hear about your mojo If you don't fancy anything off your TBR pile, maybe you could pop into the library and try something completely different, something that strikes you immediately as something you'd love to read? Well not today obviously, I expect the library'll be closed But tomorrow!
  2. No problem CaliLily, always glad to be of service
  3. Another classic GG moment! =D Emily is so conservative. It's like sometimes they find they have something in common, or enjoy some moment in life together, and they giggle like they are partners in crime, and then Emily goes on her conservative spells and blames Lorelai. It's like she's almost afraid of having fun and enjoying life. I'm sure she has her reasons for it, I'm not saying she's pure evil. Just like Chrissy said, things aren't always black and white, and all the characters do stupid things at times. I have a lot of respect for Emily, she has so many wonderful qualities, but sometimes she can be a handful. the Wiki part was left out of that quote for some reason. Now it's just Wiki telling Chrissy that she's eaten fig rolls. It's nice that you can check those things on Wikipedia today :ha ha: Oh ****, I just realised that I've confused fig with date fruit I can't remember if I've ever eaten figs. Well anyway, they do sound like tasty delicacies, I definitely want to try them. I must see if I can find them in the American snack -foodshop. The episode with the real Willy Wonka, Gene Wilder That's where I've gotten it from. Yep they had a massive amount of junk food, it's making me hungry just thinking abou it. Mmmm, marshmallows... Hershey's Kisses sound really nice as well. I was wondering though, is the insides of a H Kiss a bit foamy? Or is it chocolate all the way through? It reminds me of the Finnish thing we have, which is nowadays called Brunbergin Suukko ('Brunberg's Kiss), it used to be called something completely different but I'm not saying what because the name was a bit racist. I'm really hungry now =/
  4. I haven't read Dissolution yet CW but I have my reasons to believe that it will be just awesome! I bought the book less than 1 month ago so haven't had time to start it yet what with Christmas and being sick and all. There's a thread on Sansom's books on here by the way, people on here really seem to appreciate his novels! I'll be sure to let you know how I liked the book when I've finished it
  5. CaliLily, just in case you miss Kell's post about The Eyre Affair on my reading list, I'd like to give you a heads up: You should definitely read Jane Eyre before reading The Eyre Affair, if you haven't already done so. The Eyre Affair will be so much funnier if you are familiar with the plot of Jane Eyre, otherwise you will miss quite a lot of 'inside jokes' of literary nature. Jane Eyre is a fine book in it's own right as well, so it shouldn't be much of a chore
  6. I wouldn't mind switching to Stargate too, at least MacGyver's in it ...
  7. Ah okay, oooops!! I did wonder whether it was meant for me because you didn't use quotes, but then I checked and didn't see Rawr mentioning anything about Inkspell in the last how many posts and so I thought that maybe it was for me after all
  8. Nice to see you back on the forum again Bethany, where have you been hiding? I see you're in NY now, how's it treating you? I'm so jealous... Great books on your wishlist! The last three are especially great! I do hope you enjoy all of them I also have these books on my TBR/wishlist, I've heard great things about these books and I'm expecting them to be quite good. Let's hope we'll enjoy them Happy reading Bethany!
  9. Oh my goodness Rach, you have so many great reads on your TBR/wishlist, I'm so jealous! I wish I was you and could read those books for the first time! The Secret History, The Book Thief and Slumdog Millionaire are especially magnificent, as well as the Jane Austen and Stephen King novels of course. These are on my TBR/wishlist too, I hope they're good Have a great year 2010, and happy reading Rach!
  10. Oh holy heck, I've confused myself with all the different Ink-s again! I read Inkheart a couple of years ago and I enjoyed it, but have yet to read Inkspell and Inkdeath. I've been meaning to reread Inkheart for a while now so I could start reading the next installments. Some of the plot twists have escaped my mind, as well as some of the characters
  11. Why Rawr, why! Your TBR/wishlist isn't that long... Just this one, tiny little book? It's a really tasty and quick read, you wouldn't regret it!
  12. I've never read a Dean Koontz novel in my life and have never even been particularly tempted to do so. Today though when I was in a charityshop I saw a Koontz novel and read the blurb and it sounded interesting. It was about a 'mad doctor' (?) who gagged and tied up this man who was in a motel room with his slightly autistic brother/son? There was also a woman whom the doctor also 'kidnapped'. Then he claimed that he's a target and some people are trying to get rid of them and hence his hostages are also in danger and need to stay in hiding. The hostages first suspect he's just a loon but soon enough they are beginning to wonder what the real deal is. Does anyone recognise this novel? What's the title (I forgot it =/... ), and is it any good? Should I read it?
  13. You've got some great reads ahead of you, I hope you enjoy these! Happy reading Rawr!
  14. My BF's been watching this for at least 4 days straight now! I'm getting kind of tired of it...
  15. I've read all of these and enjoyed them all, especially The Secret History, Jane Eyre and Perfume. I hope you'll like them! I've also got these on my wishlist/TBR, I'll be following your blog to see what you thought of these Happy reading Dan!
  16. I'll let you know when I've read it
  17. Oh that's excellent news Nicola! I'm really pleased for you, you're truly in for a treat And I couldn't agree more with Kell, it's crucial that you read Jane Eyre before The Eyre Affair, if you haven't read it already This goes for you CaliLily as well! I'm going to copy here my Book Activity Today: I had the most wonderful trip to my favorite secondhand bookstore today. I stayed there for over an hour, I found a lot of Swedish and German books in the English lit section and put them to their right sections, which made a lot of room in the English section so I could nicely do a little rearranging. Now it's all nice and organised The last time I went there I bought C. J. Sansom's Dissolution and had to leave the three other books in the series there because no matter how much I wanted them, I couldn't just buy 4 books in a series I've never read. But now I've heard from some of you guys that the series is great and I was so pleased to find the books still there in the store! So all in all, I got me these: - C. J. Sansom: Dark Fire - C. J. Sansom: Sovereign - C. J. Sansom: Revelation - John Fowles: The Magus (which is in 1001 Books You Must Read but which also sounded like a really fascinating read in it's own right) - Jane Harris: The Observations (the blurb was really interesting) I'm a happy puppy!! I'm hoping to finish The Virgin in the Ice today, I've grown tired of it and wanted to start something completely different.

  19. A daily dose of cocky Cockney can do you wonders, aye?
  20. You are more than welcome Ruth :) Keep on reading! :D

  21. Exactly! She'd eat Pop Tarts with Lorelai and they would mock till they'd drop! Oh **** that's sweet! Something I'd definitely want to do. The problem is that when I started to set that thing up, I was asked to type in my Product Key so the computer could start setting up Microsoft Excel to my computer, but I have no idea what my Product Key is So that's that. No hightech booklists for me Thanks Kylie, that's real sweet of you, but I couldn't resist, I already manually collected the books from that spreadsheet. It took me quite some time but hey, it's a Sunday, what else is there to do?
  22. Okay this just popped up and I had to read the review since you Jane recommended I read the book if I like the Physick Book. I have the say I enjoyed reading your review and I'm adding this book to my TBR straight away
  23. Oooh Vinnie Jones! I love Guy Ritchie's movies I'm thinking if nothing surprising happens I'll be supporting him.
  24. Noooo! He makes **** music, and he's not even a good specimen of the Swedish male gorgeousness! Edit: I'm sure you would've enjoyed Alexander Skarsg
  25. Thanks Charm for the list! So far I only know Stephen Baldwin (because he's the brother of Alec Baldwin) and Sisquo rings a bell. All the UK celebs are on 'never heard' basis. And why, why do they need to fill up the house with Jordan's exes? Or are there no men left in the whole of Great-Britain who haven't been with Jordan at one point or another?
