  1. Hi there,

I would definitely recommend Q&A. It's a very easy read, and the story is quite gripping at the same time. The way it is written is almost like conjoined short stories, in some ways.

  2. Thanks for the review! I've heard of this book before, and, being a fan of Conn Iggulden, will probably buy it. The frustrating thing is that there are no book stores in Nelson that sell it.

    Hi!

Welcome to BCF, Amakash. I'm a newbie too, but I've found it great so far. I'm sure you'll enjoy it
  4. Hmm... Can't think of 5, because I don't often remember the names of books that I stop reading part-way through. So here's a couple of recent ones, that I can remember. 1. "The Crossing" by Cormac McCarthy. Sorry, I know some people love his books, but I just can't stand the lack of full stops, and the dozens of "and"s in each sentence. McCarthy's novels are an acquired taste I'd imagine. 2. "Off The Map" by John Harrison. Maybe true adventure stories don't appeal to me, but I thought the writing style seemed too cynical and lacked the gripping nature one would expect from an adventure story.
  5. I read the 'Emperor' series by Conn Iggulden twice when I was younger. I'm also going to read The Kite Runner again, most likely.
  6. My reading prime-time is around 11pm-12pm, after I go to bed. I often read throughout the day, especially in weekends, if the book is really good. If I don't have a great book to read, I'm usually reading Time magazines throughout the day instead. "Fussy" does come to mind when considering my taste in books.
  7. This sounds like an interesting book. I might read it when I'm done with Q&A. Thanks for the review.
  8. Thanks By the way, I've been trying to send private messages, or leave profile messages, but I don't appear to be able to do it. Is there a reason for this? Perhaps there's a minimum number of sent post for this to be enabled?
  9. Hey !

Yeah, I'd like to see your photos :)

  10. Thanks for the nice welcomes and kind words everyone! I think it's definitely a better place to visit than a place to live. I have a lot of photos that I took of the scenery here, so if you're interested in seeing them I'll give you the link. Kia ora, ke te pehea koe? Finally, a forum where others will associate my name with something other than kiwifruit. Thanks B).
  11. The rules do ask you to speak to a member of staff here before promoting your own cause, so I would have appreciated some contact from you. Hopefully it was an oversight, and you do intend to be a genuine member of this site.

  12. Hello everybody, This looks like a great forum filled with interesting people, I'm going to have fun here . I thought I should introduce myself first and foremost. My name is Matt, and I'm a 16-year-old student in New Zealand. My interests include football, world politics, journalism, activism, and of course, reading. Unfortunately I don't get the time between school, study, sports and other things to read as often as I would like. My absolute favourite book is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, as it has had a profound influence on what I want to do in life. I also recently founded a non-profit organisation called IPA. It was basically established to reduce prejudice globally, through an international forum. The idea is to achieve tolerance through communication. We will also try and fund raise for larger organisations in conflict zones, when things get going. The forums are a little empty at the moment, as they've only just been built; however, if any of you are interested, please feel free to check out http://www.ipa-forum.co.nr . Anyhow, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you here, and joining you in discussion. Cheers, Matt
