It's repeated on Thursday on Sky Three apparently I watched tonight's part but I still wasn't impressed and if anything I dislike David Jason even more now
-
I watched it - was severely disappointed with David Jason as Rincewind and even more disappointed to hear they've cobbled CoM and LF together! Not even sure whether to watch the second part tonight or not

I love Michael Crichton - will happily admit I like The Andromeda Strain, Eaters of the Dead, Westworld and even Timeline but not Airframe -

Strangely enough, I've just given it to my OH as he's on a Michael Crichton kick at the mo! -

Glad you finished it - try out the 50 page rule next time Unless you're reading something you love! -
We have books in the entrance hall, the sitting room, our bedroom, the spare bedroom, the hallway (I'm very good at stacking) and finally, as of 2 months ago, I have my library - which is already full Shelves on every wall except the one with the window!

I definitely need to start being more selective - we live in a 3 bedroom bungalow just now - the only room that has less than 1000 books in it is the bathroom! My friend has started her '50 page rule' - if it's still bad after 50 pages give it up. I guess I should try that too -

As I can't give up on a book I struggled through to the end - first time ever I gave a book 1/10, and that was for being Michael Crichton -

I just started this last night, so far I really like it

I normally have about 3 on the go - one in the bedroom, one in here next to the computer and one in my bag! I used to have more but I was getting serious eye strain so had to cut down the amount I read!

Hello *note original introduction opening* Just joined up yesterday - I'm Fae, 36 and live in Yorkshire with my OH, my cats and about 7000 books which I'm slowly listing on Library Thing. I love this forum already but the only problem is I want to read every single post just in case I miss a good book Just been reading the Watch books by Lukyanenko and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - love vampire books! Just waiting for her second one to arrive so I can get started on that. I love fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, crime, thrillers, phone books - I will read just about anything and have always been like that! Have just cracked open a new notebook ready for all the recommendations I'm sure to find - I need to fill my library hold list too. For the first time in years it only has 6 books on it!

I've been reading this thread chuckling to myself! I am terrible when it comes to the condition of my books - I won't lend any to anybody now, and that includes my OH. When I've read a book it still looks new but I've never met anyone else the same. My OH reads a book - he breaks the spine, he folds down corners and all sorts of travesties! It's become a running joke in this house that as soon as anyone picks up a book I offer them a bookmark
