    Hi!

Hey Rod, hope you enjoy the forum and WELCOME!
  2. Thanks for your help, after I posted this I went home and started reading it again, then everything started clicking. I may go back and re-read the whole thing again, just so I'm sure what is going on.
  3. I have to say that I love this show and lived in front of the TV when the showed it during the New Years Eve weekend. Adrienne is now on that My Fair Brady maybe Baby show. I really didn't like Jade..she had such a foul additude. But I do have one problem with this show. And I hope there are others out there that agree with me. Their "Plus Sized Models" are NOT plus sized!!! I can't remeber what cycle she was from, or her name for that matter but she was a size 8! Do you know how much I would kill to fit into a size 8 this day and age, I think size 8 happened in Junior High for me. I hate that she's always having trouble finding clothes her size expecially at the Go-See's, they had to litterly tape her body down to make her smaller. I just don't understand fashion designers these days, not everybody is a size 0 or 1. theres my rant, thanks for letting me get it out!
  4. Forgive me, I just saw this thread and am a little uneducated what is your version of pancakes?

  6. I feel so out of the loop with this book, I finally got it from my library yesterday and I'm having troubles adapting to Austen's writing, this will be my first Austen book and only my second "Classic". I'm on chapter 11 so I am moving right along but I'm afraid that I'm not understanding everything that I should be. Any advice?
  7. Finally picked up Sense and Sensibilty (Jane Austen) cant wait to go home and get started on it. The other books that I'm working on are going to be on the back burner.

  11. One of the first books I actually remember is sitting w/ my Dad on the couch and reading A Wrinkle in Time. We would read it on the weekends before I would go to bed since he worked nights, and I don't quite remember if we finished it or not but it really turn me into a book-aholic

    Hello

Welcome March...I love Nick Sparks also. He has a book titled something like "Around the Bend" That I could not put down, you ought to check it out.
  16. I went to google and typed in "Book Club Forum" you were the first one that popped up.
  17. Finished Jan 15 The Girlfriends Club by Judity Henry Wall. The Girlfriends Club is a moving story of four women who have been best friends since childhood. Through the years and through many spirital crises - including the recent divorces that three of them have endured - they have given one another emotional support. But when they are forced to share a secret that threatens to disrupt their lives, each of them begins to wonder if this bond of friendship that has held for almost four decades will be strong enough to withstand the strain. MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK This book had its good points and its bad. The story line was decent but dragged a lot. The four main characters who are all best friends were very realistic, sort of type of people I could relate to. I think that the book didn't focus enough on one of the main points in the story line but it was revisited at the end and "peace" was made. There were funny times, one that I remember for sure that I laughed out loud, and some tears rolled down my cheeks in a few other points. I would say go ahead and read it if you are lacking for something to do but don't hold your breath looking for this book. On a side note: This book is based in the subburbs to Kansas City, KS which is very close to where I live, I think that is one thing that kept me reading this book because I loved reading the reference of the Plaza and the Market Square, the places that I know and love. Thats my two cents

  19. I am so guilty of judging a book by it's cover, but I have noticed that my judging hasn't failed me yet. I have not picked up one book that I have not enjoyed. I grab books that look "southern" to me or look "antebellum" or I don't know just different. I picked up a book titled Cover the Butter and sped through it in about 2 1/2 days. I've been having a good time scavaging through the library for new tresures. The last time I left I checked out 11 books...next one I finish I'll post a review on it...

    HI

OH gosh...umm...Thats such a difficult question. I guess it would just be eaiser to say that I don't love reading science fiction books..but I will if I can't seem to find anything else that I like to read. I'm in some sort of kick where I'm wanting books baced in the south or in the 1800's plantation era....but I like vampire books and romance, mystery......i'm babbeling..i hope you can understand that

I'm currently unemployed so I have ton's of time for reading, I visit my library regularly and thats where I have access to the internet untill we get a computer at home. so I appologize if my posting is limited but I wanted to find a place that I could chat with people about what they are reading and what books I'm reading. Well nice to meet ya'll....
