  1. PS. I notice that you're reading 'Alone in Berlin' - how are you finding it?

  2. Hi Weave - sorry I've just realised that I never replied to your message the other day. Yeah things are well with me - been a busy year. I've been to a few gigs which have been good fun - been getting in touch with my youth again - I mention this as I remember you're a fellow music fan. How are things with you - good I hope.

    Take care

    Judith xx

That's really good news - hope the course goes well. I think when you study later on it can be very fulfilling - it's hard juggling it with family responsibilities but well worth the effort - I wish you all the best in your future study and career - good for you!

Glad things are good for your dad and Robbie - bet Romania was quite an experience for him.

    Take care

    xx

I'm very well thanks. How's life with you? Am I right in thinking that you've started a college course? How are Robbie and your Dad? xx

  5. Hello - thanks for your message. Things are good with me - how about you? Been up to much? take care

  6. Hi Janet - thanks for leaving a message. Things are good with me - I haven't visited here for a while as I've found it hard to settle to reading but now am in the middle of a good book and have regained the reading habit. Hope things are well with you. Take care

  7. Hi Paula - thanks for leaving a message. I'm well. For some strange reason I've found it hard to get back into reading since Christmas but I'm halfway through A Small Part of History which I'm thoroughly enjoying so looks like I've regained the reading habit - thank goodness. Hope things are good with you. Take care x

  8. I think living in the country is the best way to learn a language. Do you think in French? I'm not studying other languages but I lived in Germany for 3 years a long time ago and so I can scrape by in German.

Yes wonderful memories of Paris - getting German measles (very cosmopolitan!), getting left at the airport entrance when it was time to go home (I was only 14 and thought I'd never see home again) and in my anxiety nearly causing a security scare by leaving a 2 foot chocolate rabbit at the x-ray machine. As you say it depends who you stay with - I'm glad I went though as it was a fantastic experience.

Did you enjoy London? I love visiting it - we stayed in Kensington last year and it was great having so much within walking distance. I'd love to live there just for a year.

  9. I stayed in Paris fr 10 days when I was 14 with a penfriend I'd never met before (interesting experience) and have in recent years been to Brittany 3 times. I'm keen to see other areas of France though. Your English is very good - where did you learn it?

  10. Sounds stupid but I wasn't sure if you were a student of French or a student who is French - now I know - lol. What do you study? I love France myself and am waiting to begin studying French at A level (this is what our 16-18 year olds study once they have completed their GCSEs at 16).

  11. I've been very good and put it away until next year. Worked today but as I love my work it's been an enjoyable way to spend the day. Hope you're having a nice weekend. How long are you in France for?

  12. Never think that you are going on - it's good that you have somewhere to share your concerns. I just wish that things were better for you and your family.

  13. Hi it's good to hear from you. Hope things are well although I'm always sorry to read that things are not good with your Mum. It must be very hard for you and your family.

    My thoughts are with you.

  14. Hadn't realised we weren't friends on here so sent you a friendship request. Hope things are ok with you. x

  15. JudyB

Enjoy the meet up - it must be nice to put people to the names.

Glad Robbie's doing well. I'm not surprised you are all finding it so hard - the speed at which you lost your mum was cruelly quick and she must have left a huge gap in all your lives. Hugs to you all - as you say time will help but it must still be very raw for you all.

    Thinking of you.

Can't believe I've just sent this to myself first - lol.

Hi Nici - I'm fine. I've not been on as much as usual as we've bought a bookcase which unfortunately has made the socket I use for my laptop unreachable so I have to charge my laptop and then only get an hour on there each night. There's so many people on the forum now (which is good) but it takes me ages to read the messages and so I don't get long to comment - lol.

How are things with you? Has Robbie settled into the new school year ok? How are your family?

It's good to hear from you.

PS I'm actually attached to a socket tonight as no one is watching telly in the lounge so Im in the conservatory.

  19. Hi thanks for your message and friendship request. I've had a busy but good day today - we're going to decorate my daughter's room and install a new window so there's been a lot of prep. Hope things are good with you. :)

Hi - just noticed you're reading A Pair of Blue Eyes - I read it recently and thought it was a good read - especially towards the end. Hope you're enjoying it.

  21. Wow that was quick - glad it arrived ok. Hmm that's the second time today I've been called 'naughty' - first instance was one of my ladies that I visit - lol.

  22. Hi Paula - thank you so much for sending the Louise Wener book - it looks really good. I don't think it will take me long to read What Was Lost and then I'll move on to it next,

    Looking forward to reading it.

    Thank again

  23. Aaah thanks Renniemist - it's good to be back despite my posts to read pile being as big as my post-holiday washing pile!!

Hope things are good with you.

  24. Hi Paula

I've just got back from a lovely holiday in France hence my absence. It's very nice that both you and Nici sent a message to check I was ok - it was very kind of you both. Looking at your profile page I feel like I've missed loads as it looks as though we can now customise our own pages - I like your photo especially as I can now put a face to your name. I also have over a thousand posts to catch up on plus quite a few book reviews to write/publish - gasp, think I need another holiday!!!

    Take care

PS Just noticed you've had a birthday - hope you had a lovely day.

  25. It's a bit of a joke this photo - my girls gave me a my space photo style photo for Mother's Day and so I thought I'd have a go at this myself. My eldest checked out my first attempts and said I'd made all the mistakes that people make when they take such photos. She liked this one best. I know it's not the clearest photo but I'm a little paranoid about the internet.
