  1. Mia: yay, somebody has read it! I'm actually reading Zenith now! I love Exodus, but it's really scary at the same time because you think; Mara could be my children or grandchildren's generation! :D it's just freaky cuz it's so close; they're always talking about global warming but this shows just how near it is!! They should make it compulsory reading ;)

And I've heard of the other ones, too!!:lol:I read one, but I didn't like it that much - this could, however, be because I read Storm first  I didn't realise there was another one, you see.

I may give them another chance when we go back to school, then.

  2. I can't really remember that many of my books, but the one I've just been reading is Exodus and it's absolutely fantastic

It's about the Earth in 2100, only the ice has all melted so there's only a tiny amount of land left, and a lot of humans have died, and it's about this girl called Mara trying to lead the people on her drowning island to a new land, only to find...

read the book! It's amazing, and chilling in a way no other book has been that I've ever read, because it could soon happen.

  3. Has anybody else seen this? It's blimmin' brilliant!

You can get up to 200 hundred books, with a memory card store hundreds more, $9.99 (about five pounds - can't find the symbol :s )for new releases and New York Times faves, you can get Northern Lights (The Golden Compass in America) for - get this - 2 pounds fifty!! Looks like paper, next page buttons on both sides, wikipedia, free wireless connection, can read blogs and newspapers and magazines, battery lasts for days, and if you think of a book you can be reading it within a minute. It's about the size of the average paperback, and lighter than most at 10.3 ounces. You can choose what size text, in-built dictionary, fully-searchable.

God I sound like an adervertiser, but it's amazing! Have a look here

  4. I'm not sure if there's a thread for this already, but similarly to the music association thread I started, are there any books which remind you of a certain person, place or thing?

The Enchanted Horse makes me think of my friend, because she gave it to me after she didn't want it any more (you ever read the Enchanted Horse? Very sad ;) )

Black Beauty reminds me of Sandringham cuz that's where I got it from.

Across The Wall gives me this picture of me sat in a Weatherspoons reading it!:welcome: Cuz I'd bought it that day and I was bored waiting for my dad to come back from ordering :006:

anybody else reminded of something by a certain book?
