  1. It is. I'd love to see it, never been. On the list.
  2. I'm cutting back.......(and if you believe that, I have some swamp er, farm land I'd like to sell you).
  3. Yup, it's sitting in the new TBR stack by the couch.....
  4. Great review, Julie! Yeah, who knew.....everything old is new again.
  5. Just received a notification from the Weather service that we are under a tornado watch and heavy thunderstorms are headed this way. A watch isn't as bad as a warning though!
  6. I agree. I've read it twice, many years apart and enjoyed it quite a lot. Haven't read the sequel yet....it's on the shelf here. /sigh/ Sari, I mentioned over on BB;s thread about Sister, the first of Lupton's books. Thought I'd repeat here for you. I found Sister to be more "exciting/thriller" type than Afterwards, but thoroughly enjoyed both.
  7. Good review of The Paying Guest, Laura. I've been a bit torn because of, as you mention, the hype surrounding it, but every time I'd read the synopsis I'd be put off. You've gotten me off the fence! Neat classics list. Lolita is one of my all time favorites. I haven't read The Moonstone, but have read Collins's The Woman in White. It's good, but too drawn out. I suppose that is on account of the way it was originally released. But still.
  8. I like poetry, but don't read nearly enough. I'd be interested, Sari.
  9. Great reviews, BB! I really enjoyed Lupton's books, both of them. I read this one ^^^^^ second and while I really liked it, I have to say that the other one Sister, really was more of a "thriller" type. As I recall at any rate. The ending was excellently done.
  10. Oh, please! Thanks, Anna! Ahh, well. The early bird and all that. Thanks, Gaia! They are some interesting topics. I just love this......."You have posted a message with more emoticons than this community allows. Please reduce the number of emoticons you've added to the message" /sigh/ and LOLOLOL!!!
  11. Just wanted to share this absolutely fantastical, gorgeous array of pictures of an unusual occurrence. The pictures are amazing, more than I can describe. Enjoy! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/wp/2015/01/02/new-years-snow-storm-turns-grand-canyon-into-winter-wonderland-photos/?tid=trending_strip_1

  22. Thanks, Kylie.....I hope you will as well. Hey, hey!! I hope your reading year is great, and no more of those pesky interruptions.....you know.....hospitals, nasty car people, stuff like that! Great to see you back on here, Julie. Didn't post on your thread yet as I wasn't sure if you were open for business yet.....
  23. Great lists and graphics!! Have a Happy and Productive New Reading Year!
  24. A successful reading year is what is successful in your eyes. While it's great to be able to break your own record, it isn't the only thing. Life interferes, knocks us down, drags us around by the heels, kicking and screaming. All that takes away from valuable reading time! Priorities. Sometimes reading just has to take a back seat. Although at times, it's our savior. I hope your new year is happy and productive.
  25. Last night I started John Banville's Ancient Light. It's similar to his The Sea of 2005 in structure. Great so far. Hope everyone has a great Reading New Year!! Oh, btw, I put a review of my last book of 2014 on my old blog thread...The Polish Boxer by Eduardo Halfon.
