I find her stories heartwarming and they're moving. I was the first one that read her books then I loved them so much, and because mum had lost dad she also lost the interest in picking up books so I said to her here's someone you will like and she looked a the book I gave her 2 weeks later it was finished. she said then "IF She has a new book out that would be lovely for my birthday!" I said okay then. then when it was her birthday I did what I promised bought her a Cathy Kelly book (Always and forever) and she loved it.

scottishbookworm replied to rosegarden's topic in General Fiction
I too have never read bill bryson's books! my brother-in-law is a huge fan and he's always got one in his hand when I go on holiday with mum and my sister and niece and brother-in-law. He'll probably have one when I go to spain this year again in July -

The Naming of the Dead G8 ... George Bush ... Rebus ... The Naming of the Dead promises a potent mix of action and politics, set against a backdrop of the most devastating week in recent British history. Set in July 2005 when the G8 leaders gathered in Scotland. Facing daily marches, demonstrations, and scuffles, the police are at full stretch. Detective Inspector John Rebus, however, has been sidelined, until the apparent suicide of an MP coincides with clues that a serial killer may be on the loose. The authorities are keen to hush up both, for fear of overshadowing a meeting of global importance – but Rebus has never been one to stick to the rules, and when his colleague Siobhan Clarke finds herself hunting down the identity of the riot cop who assaulted her mother, it looks as though Rebus and Clarke may be up pitted against both sides in the conflict. Released on the 18th of October 2006 ISBN-10: 0752868586 ISBN-13: 9780752868585

:ob_sad:That's a sad to hear about the passing of Mr Sheldon and now he's at peace. it's hard to put something like this into words. the words we can put them into is to remember him by all the good words he gave us in his novels. Words that will touch our hearts.
