  1. I don't think it would have had the same effect if it had been a chronological narrative. The way the story read kept me captivated to the very end. It was a great book and one that I will definately re-read at some point Ps How did you come up with the idea for A Lifetime Burning?
  2. Hello and welcome Georgie, I'm sure you'll love it here.
  3. What can I say it was a great read I couldn't put it down
  4. Hope your having a lovely birthday!

  5. You weren't wrong there Michelle A gripping read from start to finish.
  6. Well I finished A Lifetime Burning by Linda Gillard this afternoon, another page turner. I loved Emotional Geology but this surpassed that, I was hooked from the first page and felt I really got to know the Dunbar family well. The story is well written and even though it moves between different periods in the families lives it just adds to the feeling of wanting to know more. I will definately re-read this one day. Now I really must finish Confessions Of An Ugly Sister before tackling anything else
  7. Hello and welcome Jordan as you will soon find out we have wide and varied reading tastes here, look forward to seeing you around the board.

  10. From what I've seen via the bbc news is that Davina will be interviewing Alex and also there will be a new housemate joining BB9
  11. I'd have to say I prefer quality over quantity, I'm one of those readers who can re-read books I've enjoyed and would be more inclined to keep a book for that reason.
  12. 1. Who is your all-time favourite author, and why? Can't really answer this one as, thanks to BCF, it changes faster than the weather! 2. Who was your first favourite author, and why? Do you still consider him or her among your favourites? My first favourite author was Enid Blyton I loved all her books especially the St. Clare's and Malory Towers books, closely followed by Anna Sewell. I wouldn't consider them as still favourites more like they evoke wonderful childhood memories 3. Who’s the most recent addition to your list of favourite authors, and why? Tess Gerritsen, Linda Gillard, Katherine Warwick, Karin Slaughter, Sam Hayes and Stuart MacBride. They've all encouraged me to read more and more and I love all their books I've read to date. 4. If someone asked you who your favourite authors were right now, which authors would first pop out of your mouth? Are there any you’d add on a moment of further reflection? Tess Gerritsen, Linda Gillard, KW, Karin Slaughter, Stuart MacBride, Martina Cole, Lesley Pearse and Michel Faber. On further reflection I would add Jodi Picoult, Torey Haydn, Phillipa Gregory, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.
