  1. I learnt to play the recorder at junior school and can still play greensleeves :giggle2: I had violin lessons for 3 years at secondary school and at one point was in the school orchestra. I remember having a few guitar lessons when I was younger too but what I would really love to do is learn to play the piano - might just have to set myself a goal there.

  2. I bought Linda Gillard's bl**dy brilliant 'Emotional Geology' on Kindle today. Only £1.90! :D

    Bargain! fab book too :)

I am still reading Lesley Pearse 'Never Look Back', have to keep putting it down as I keep crying reading it, some parts of the book just makes you sob.

This was the first LP book I read and it had me in tears too but I loved it :)

I've not read anything for about a week now :( I'm really missing my mojo again, the little blighter has done another runner :giggle2:

  3. Yep I've downloaded a few cheapies including Karin Slaughter's new one for 49p and got Jeffery Archer's Kane & Able for free. In fact almost all my books on the kindle were either free or less than £1.50.

  4. Been away for a week, and now have an almost empty Kindle, so book activity today will involve downloading some new books, updating book lists and writing a few reviews :smile2:

Chesil has nicked all our mojo's :giggle2:

Although I want to read I'm lacking motivation right now, I know it is down to things going on in my life right now so hopefully it will resolve itself in the next few days :(

  5. Linda Gillard writes thought provoking books that stay with you, and are definitely stories about love (among other things).

    Emotional Geology

    Star Gazing

    A Lifetime Burning

House Of Silence (this one on Kindle only)

Kazuo Ishiguro is another author whose writes books that stay with you. The two I have read are quiet penetrating pieces; 'Never Let Me Go' and 'The Remains Of The Day'.

    I'll second LG's books :)

  6. I finished Lesley Pearse 'Trust Me', talk about a tearful book, reduced to tears so many times. Now I am reading Lesley Pearse 'Secrets', which is very good, into her books at the moment.

This was the first LP book I read and it had the same effect :) I think she is a fab author and have almost all of her books now.

  7. Never Trust Anyone by Keira O'Brady

My dad mad me promise that I wouldn't write about my life until he died, twenty years after he passed away I finally found the courage to write it. This is my true story wrote in my own words and tells how I was left after my mum's death at the age of nine years to suffer physical, mental, sexual and cruel abuse at the hands of my dad and others I thought I could trust.

You may find my story alarming, disturbing and tearful but also humorous.....

  8. I started We Need to Talk About Kevin

Be interested to hear what you think of this one, I personally loved it :)

Finished Sam Hayes' Someone Else's Son yesterday, another fab read from her. So far I've enjoyed all of her books and like Linda Gillard she has yet to disappoint.

Starting Never Trust Anyone by Keira O'Brady tonight.
