  1. 1. My fave flower is anything that looks like a daisy

    2. My fave season is Autumn.

    3. I was a member of an athletic club in my teens and ran the 1500m.

    4. I love to hang my washing out and watch is flap around in the wind.

    5. I needed to have a blood transfusion when I was born.

  2. Another upset for an SPL team in the Scottish Cup. Ross County 1st Div just put out Hibernian to reach the semi final against Celtic.

At this rate we might have Raith Rovers and Ross County in the final....now that would be a turn up for the books..... Go the wee teams.

  3. St Austell scored in the last minute in what should have been a narrow 2-1 victory, but the referee then proceeded to add on 15 minutes of injury time(!) and Dobwalls equalised in the 10th of those minutes! Gutted!

Oh well, we're still a point clear at the top, so I can't complain too much.

15 minutes, where did he get that from! Sounds like a record..is that actually allowed :D

I wasn't at Andy's footie yesterday, unfortunately, as they won 5-0 and he scored one (probably why, me being missing). No bloody noses this week thank goodness! So hoorah....3 points.

  4. Had our bookcrossing meetup last night and released some books to the shelf.

'Word of Honor' by Dani Sinclair

'The Medusa Project: The Thief/Walking the Walls' by Sopie McKenzie/Chris Higgins (world book day book)

'Magic Ballerina - The Magic Dance/ Kitten Chaos' by Darcey Bussell/Anna Wilson (world book day book)

'Dinosaur Cove: Battle of the Giants/The Charlie Small Journals: Valley of Terrors: World Book Day' by Rex Stone/Charlie Small

'Six Days: How the 1967 War Shaped the Middle East' by Jeremy Bowen

  5. Mid week game for boy and Glendale against league leaders last night. Held them to 2-2 at HT but unfortunately beat 3-2 in the last 5 minutes. So nearly took a points of them, unluck

  6. Carol Drinkwater and the The Olive Farm trilogy is very good. Carol Drinkwater, better known probably as an actress, tells the tale of her real-life romance between herself and Michel a television producer and their olive farm in Provencal.

This was a book I couldn't put down. It takes you to the mediterranean world of living and tells of their ups and downs of living there and trying to get this farm up and running. It has a few tears on the way but once read I had to go straight onto the sequel.

  7. 'For One More Day' by Mitch Albom

Wow ! What a great read. I have read his previous two books and this is just as good. The basic story is based on a meeting between Mitch Albom and an ex-baseball player Charley 'Chick' Benetto.

'Chick' tells his story to Mitch and he has written his account of what happened in a believable, wonderful way with words. 'Chick' has left his family and has hit rock bottom, no job, ruined his life with alcohol and has no invitation to his daughter's wedding. The only thing he decided to do is take his own life.

He leaves for a last visit to his hometown, which he decides will be his final journey. He makes it to his old house, and there waiting for him is his mother, who died 8 years earlier! It all appears to him as if nothing has happened or changed.

What unfolds throughout the book appears to be an ordinary day and some of us would hanker after: a chance 'for one more day' with a beloved lost parent.

I don't want to say anymore as this would take away the whole, gentle and sensitive read. Mitch Albom has taken all he was told, and papers and notes belonging to 'Chick' and turned them into something special. I was brought nearly to tears on several occasions (maybe not the ideal read for just before Mother's Day, I did this once before when I read 'Five People You Meet in Heaven' just after I lost my mum!) One for you too read and make up your own mind about

  9. Ah well...interesting game today. Were up 1-0, then my boy got a ball in the face from one of his team mates and went down...stunned a wee bit, bloody nose and had to go off to the sidelines, took absolutely ages to stop bleeding and had to get substituted. In the meantime they managed to score an own goal :D and then West End scored the winner, so nae points today.

Never mind....ya beauties.....Raith Rovers 2-1 Dundee.....yeh....:) they are through to the Scottish Cup semi final. Don't know who we have though in the semi, could be Rangers or Celtic!

  10. That is what appeals to me about bookcrossing.com, I love the idea of someone finding a book I have left and then writing a short journal about how and where they found it

Good luck with the bookcrossing Johnny.....I do that too on occasions, occasional journals for them. Handed a couple in to a charity shop recently hoping the labels are still inside them!!

  11. How is your weather for this weekends fixtures Sedge? Nice day here. Boy just gone off for footie, middle of league team today, maybe hoping to take a point at least.

Raith Rovers v Dundee in the next round of Scottish Cup.....go the boys :)
