'While her parents slept unawares in their bedroom across the landing, Alice had spent night after night awake in the dark, hands gripping the covers tightly, determined to conquer her demons alone. But not for years now. It had left her alone for years.'

Sausage, egg and chips followed by Chocolate Angel Delight with broken digestive biscuits at the bottom and chocolate sprinkles on top. (Robbie has a friend over)
Sounds like the kind of pudding we would have here:lol:
I have just picked some rhubarb from the garden and gently stewed/roasted it in the oven with some sugar. It keeps its shape better and will have it with yogurt after the soup.

I got heaps of carrots yesterday from my friend as she buys loads with the tops still on for her rabbits, but there are only so many carrots two people can eat. So think I am off to make carrot and coriander soup for tea I think.

That does sound quick and easy. I'm sure I did something similar with the condensed tomato and fish.

Unfortunately there is a Paperchase in the Borders bookshop I sometimes stop at and that is very tempting to stock up with nice stuff.

Yip just what I thought. Wasn't nearly enough of 'him', however it was still good. Was a bit touch and go there with Carter, but it was nice to see Peter Benton having some banter with him. And didn't he put that surgeon in his place

That was a good double bill. Was great to see some old faces, shame there wasn't more of GC though, but what there was was lovely

That Dave is so evil isn't he. Poor Susan, wonder what he will have planned for dealing with her. I bet Mike will come to here rescue anyway. I'm sure Bree will give Orson whats for, she is onto him big time I think.

I've only seen the second half of the film, and resolved to try and avoid the book - the ending of the film made me cry so hard that I think reading the book (books always make me cry even more than films, which is saying something) might actually rupture my tear ducts or something.I've seen the film and cried for ages after it had finished. .and seen the film - had me in floods of tears
Me too. James Garner was brilliant in it. My sis and I watched it last year when we were on holiday, with a bottle of wine and a box of tissues:blush:

On my shelf and I am reading Marshmallows for Breakfast at the moment.

Sounds like a temptingly good read Kate, having read the Blossom Street ones, a must for a wish list I think.

After the title/author/cover I read the back of the book and then possibly the first page. If it is the next in a trilogy though I would automatically buy it if enjoyed the first one
