  3. I have that one also....if I'm not mistaken it's sitting next to The Brethren, unread....I may move it now
  4. just added another to my TBR pile...just keeps on growing and growing!!
  5. I haven't read The Brethren yet...I have started it once or twice, but just couldn't get hooked. I just figure I'll go back to it at a later time. It's still waiting
  6. mmmm....any pie with a scoop of ice cream is my fave!
  7. all I've done lately is bake.....our trees are loaded with apples and pears....so I've made countless apple pies, apple/pear pie....and pear bread....and pear tart....etc...etc....
  8. you're a trooper
  9. fantastic idea! and keep us posted on each bottle
  10. I wonder what they are waiting for....? Thanks a lot Michelle...appreciated
  11. very cool Muggle! A Time To Kill was also my fave book of his...but like many other authors, he has gotten (dare I say it..) a bit stale....The Broker was just horrible...but he also has a new book coming out based on a true story called The Innocent Man. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to read it though.
  12. not since trying The Surgeon...I'm afraid to
  13. ok....here is my ill-fated attempt at reviving this thread....today I have been drinking a "few" glasses of Almaden Blush Chablis"....yes, it's wine-in-a-box. One of the best inventions if you ask me! Ok, maybe a bit more than a "few" glasses
  14. I was listening to a bit of her interviews...she seems a bit high on herself...no kidding about the helicopter? jeez....
  15. true...but if we are the ones buying the books, you would think they'd welcome it....as you said, could be filtered by someone (or more than one) else. Kind of telling of her in a way if you ask me!
  16. I agree with that about her site....I couldn't even find a "contact the author" thingy!
  17. I have really enjoyed her medical thrillers.....hard to put down...but I started to read The Surgeon, and I got very turned off...for some reason I just found it incredibly graphic, which is funny because it never really bothered me before :worried:
  18. one of the best books I've read. Couldn't believe the twist at the end......
  19. enjoyed this book also (five people you meet in heaven) good story, not a long book either....good weekend one. I also enjoyed the movie they made about it.
  20. Could that be a mix up with English and American dates, your first date is American 31st October (has to be) but the second in American is 1st September but in English is 9th January 2007 which would make more sense. possibly. I will have to do a bit more digging and get back with a correct answer ok...I found this...maybe someone else can make some sense of it http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/c/patricia-cornwell/book-of-dead.htm
  21. according to a friend of mine, she is releasing a new book on 10/31/06.....but I just checked Amazon, and it say 09/01/07!!! (although the friend lives in England) they wouldn't put something that far in advance, would they?!?!? :grr:
  22. hi Boris.....I have read most of P. Corwell's books....it would probably be a good idea to read them in order...that way you'll have a much better understanding on the characters and what they go through. But she does have a couple out that don't feature Kay Scarpetta (trust me, skip those). Also, I will admit her last couple Kay Scarpetta stories haven't exactly been up to par in my opinion. Anyone else agree? hope this helps!
  23. great minds think alike
  24. Some Dean Koontz I really liked....others...eh...not so good....Intensity, Life Expectancy, Sole Survivor, The Taking were all pretty good.....The Servants of Twilight was crappy....and Velocity was so-so...there are more I read, but I can't remember right at the moment!
  25. Muggle...go to a larger liquor store that has everything.....usually there is a section with wines from different countries...you're more likely to find it there
