Why The Whales came... I finished it today. It's a good book, which I will definitely reread. Review going on under children's section.

Yes, I agree... she's not a spider that makes me scream!

Oh Kell! I didn't know it was a film! I bet it's good, but I don't like films that make me cry that much! I'll watch out for this one then!!!

I read Charlotte's Web on holiday... and loved it!
My fave character was Avery because he was quite funny! I was relieved when Wilbur didn't become a slice of bacon or a pork chop!
I understand that this book is a classic. Does anyone remember reading it?

I'm now reading Why the Whales Came (Michael Mopurgo). This a lovely book about a cursed island in the Scilly Isles called Samson.

Maureen, my favourite book so far is the Half Blood Prince, which I'm just re-reading.

Have you got any theories about Snape? My hubby thinks he is definately bad while I'm not so sure!I think that Snape was a rather evil man for possibly murdering Dumbledore and meeting two Death Eaters at the beginning of the book.
This is my favourite book so far in the Harry Potter series and am looking forward to no. 7!

Has anyone read the Half Blood Prince yet?
Is Dumbledore really dead?
Did a Death Eater disguise himself with Polyjuice Potion?
Will Dumbledore reveal himself to be alive in the last book? :?

Why the Whales Came by Michael Mopurgo
When Gracie and Daniel get stranded on the "cursed" island of Samson, they discover a narwhal tusk around 100 years old.
Later, when they find their way home on Bryher, they find the Birdman, a man the island really loaths, with a stranded Narwhal. He said that it had something to do with the curse on Samson ..........
When the Birdman proves himself right, the islanders set to rescue the stranded Narwhal. This is a book about whether people believes in the curse.
I would recommend this book and it is a one that I would read again.
