MAREL Insulated Piercing Connectors

• Designed without detachable parts that could loosen or fall off

• Intended for single-use installation only

• Equipped with an Anti-Rotation Device (ARD) that prevents rotation between the upper and lower connector parts, ensuring correct alignment and reliable installation

• ARD enables clean, deep penetration of contact plates through the insulation of LV ABC conductors during installation

Marel insulated piercing connectors with simultaneous piercing of the main and tap conductors are tested in compliance with EN 50483, SRPS EN 50483, NFC 33-020, and ROCR P 70352-2022 standards. All standard requirements are fulfilled. Key tests include:

• Low-temperature installation test at −10 ± 3 °C, confirming electrical continuity at torque values below 70% of the manufacturer’s minimum specified torque

• Mechanical impact testing of contact plates to verify stability of both main and branch insulated conductors

• Mechanical strength testing, including shear head break torque and connector resistance at 1.5× the maximum specified torque

• Dielectric voltage test in water (6 kV for 60 s after 30 minutes of immersion)

• Electrical ageing test with 1,000 heating and cooling cycles

• Environmental and corrosion resistance tests

• Permanent marking durability test
