  1. I've noticed that generally (my opinion) comedy is not really an acceptable genre for fiction. If anyone is publishing a book they might categorize as humorous or comedic, it's usually a non-fiction (often a biography) and not a fictional story. And even when there is comedy in a fiction book, I don't think it's what I might call "comedy centric." Put plainly: there are rarely any books that achieve what you get from movies like "The Naked Gun," "Austin Powers" or "Black Dynamite." This has come up in my own corner as an author. I mostly write mysteries, but really -- if I'm being honest -- comedy would be the realest genre. What do you think about this? I'm certain many examples can be cited of books people found hilarious, but... I'll be excited to be proven wrong.
