  1. ....somewhere in its stomach. But no time for that now, I whistle under my breath for my magic carpet but....
  2. I read this book a few months back and I absolutely loved it! Brilliant storytelling. A simple story, combined with strong narrative. The lead character, Cormoran is so unique. Galbraith managed to portray some unforgettable characters in this book.
  3. omg thank you! you're recommendation is really helpful! I love fantasy books. I've been looking for good recommendations but my friends can't seem to suggest anything that doesn't have a supposedly sexy bloodsucker in it.
  4. I find it amazing that you actually like studying. I love books in general but whenever my school gives me a specific book to read and write a report on and takes exams based on that particular novel, it becomes more like a forced chore to me. I no longer find enjoyment in reading the book. My opinion about a certain character is often different from my teacher's but she refuses to see things from any other perspective
  5. Has anyone read Asylum by Patrick McGarth?
  6. I'm currently reading 'People of the book's by Geraldine Brooks. It seems interesting. I think I'm starting to weave the dream of becoming a book conservator. Which will probably fade away as soon as pick up another book where the lead character is a ghost hunter, then I'd dream of becoming that when I grow up.
  7. Oh Hunger Games! it was indeed a fantastic trilogy. I loved it till the end. You don't see a gooey-mushy ending in the hunger games. You see reality and tragedy. You see the truth of life. You see love.
  8. Athena thanks. Do you own or work at a cake shop? :3
  9. Brian, thanks man. I just hope my loss of interest is not a permanent thing. 80 books in one year. wow. that's a lot of reading. What kind of books do you like? favorite genre?
  10. This really was a great book. I honestly love to hate Heathcliff. Its not a love story, its a story about revenge. But Heathcliff and Cathy's love story is indeed an unforgettable one. It took me some time to finish the book. The old English created a slight language barrier. Once I finished it though, I felt that it was completely worth investing time on. A novel with a perfect ending, in my opinion.
  11. I liked The Notebook by Sparks. This one wasn't bad either. Sweet love story. Wilson actually changed himself a lot for the love of his life. Can't say I didn't see the surprise coming though. Sparks needs to work on his twists in stories. I've found that he follows this one pattern in all his books, making them predictable.
  12. The fifty shades trilogy were 3 very badly written books. The quality of the novels sucked from a literary perspective. But somehow James managed to portray an unforgettable character: Christian Grey. I loved him, in all honesty. I don't think we should try to find something more in there. It is what it is, an erotica. It gained so much popularity because it was easy to read, required no contemplation or concentration. It was the first erotic romance have read. Though I thought it was a badly written book, I enjoyed my time with it.
  13. hey guys! I'm a new member. Hope to make friends and find inspiration here. thanks!
  14. Really just trying to catch up with studies and trying to keep on reading at the same time. I'm depressed to realize that I'm not a fast reader anymore. Books don't grab me and draw me in the way they used to and I fear that I may lose my interest. I don't want that. Life is complicated for me right now. I've got a lot to figure out. I don't wanna lose the one thing I call passion in the midst of my late-teen chaos.
