  1. Hope you had a nice break vixen  I really enjoyed Pride & Prejudice as well.Have you heard of Longbourn by Jo Baker ? It's the servants view of life in the Bennett household, it's on my want to read list for this year  :D

Had a fantastic break thanks

I haven't heard of that book, but I will go ahead and purchase it. Any book related to pride and prejudice takes my interest

  2. In our house there is no such thing as space, Pixie  :D

Thanks Vixen  :D  Wuthering Heights is one of my all time favourite books & films, it's listed on my TBR list as i'm going to reread it for the English Counties Challenge. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it but i guess it's not everybody's cup of tea. Do you have a favourite classic ?

Sorry haven't been around for a week, went away on a little break :)

My favourite classic would have to be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

  3. Hope that you enjoy all of your TBR list, these 3 are spectacular  . I have Pamuk's The Museum of Innocence on my TBR list, as I loved his My Name is Red. Happy Reading

I look forward to your thoughts on The Museum of Innocence

  4. Happy reading in 2014 Vixen. I have a few books on my TBR that you have on yours so it will be good to see what you think of them as the year goes on. I haven't read any on your TBR but that's not that unusual for me :D

I have read a different Orhan Pamuk book in the past, Snow, and I found it really enjoyable.

That's great to hear, think I'll have to add Snow to my TBR.. :)

  5. Hi vixen,

I've got a number of books on my TBR pile that are the same as yours so shall be stopping by regularly :D

I really enjoyed Gone Girl and particularly The Time Traveler's Wife! Just don't watch the film of the latter, it annoyed me after reading the book!

    Happy reading in 2014.

Thanks Alexi, Ill stop by your thread also to see your views on the books we share in common

I am particularly excited to read Gone Girl, I've heard it is a great read.

Ill take up your advice about not watching The Time Traveler's Wife movie  :P

    Hi Vixen

Best Wishes on your Reading 2014 !

    Thanks Julie

Happy reading and book blogging in 2014 Vixen! :D

    Thanks Devi!

  7. Yes Jane Austen has never disappointed me. Except slightly when Anne Hathaway played her. Even though I like Anne Hathaway.

Jane Eyre is great. Silly me, I put off reading it for years. But it is such a meaty story. Not pansy or girly at all. Watch the movie with Mia whatsername too

I think I am the silly one, I didn't even know there was a movie out. Ill have to watch it after I read the book.

  8. There are some really good ones on your TBR pile.

Some I have really enjoyed and recommend are:

Life of Pi by Yann Martel

    Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

    The Help by Kathryn Stockett

That's great to hear. I'm definitely looking forward to reading each and every one of them

Hi Vixen a nice manageable TBR pile there! You should steam through that. I have read and enjoyed all the Austens on your list and Jane Eyre too. Life Of Pi is still on my own TBR. Happy reading.

Thought I'd start small and then add more as I go. I will buy heaps more in the coming year so there should be a fair amount added later on/

I loved Austens Pride and Prejudice, even watch the movie adaption of it (BBC version) thousands of times! Thought I'd go onto reading a few more by Austen.

    Hi Vixen :)

The very best of luck with your reading in 2014 :)

I love looking at TBR lists .. it's like peeking at people's bookshelves .. I try to do that if I'm walking past a house with its curtains open :blush2:

You've got some great reads ahead of you (in particular the Jane Austen's, Jane Eyre, Life of Pi, The Help and The Perks of being a Wallflower) Happy Reading!

    I feel the same

Hi Vixen. :) I hope you'll enjoy Jane Eyre - I loved it, and look forward to hearing what you think. I'll also be interested to hear your thoughts on Alif the Unseen, as it's been on my wishlist for a while. :)

It looks like Jane Eyre is a must read, I have had alot of people recommend it to me.

When I read the blurb for Alif the Unseen I said to myslef I have to read this! I will let you know how I go

  9. Hi Kidsmum,

It's great to see we have common books on our TBR piles. I haven't read any Orhan Pamuk books before also, but coming from a Turkish background I have heard he writes well. Plus I guess its a bonus that he also won the Nobel prize a few years back  Once I get around to reading it I will let you know my thoughts

For years I have been meaning to read Jane Eyre however never got around to it. Hopefully I'll get around to reading it this year :gl:
